As expected, President Obama came out and said something that sounds wonderful and conciliatory and that seems reasonable to people who are eager to reconcile with the president and give themselves permission to vote for him again in November. And with that, Obama will have done the thing he needs to do, here... Obama "accommodation" reactions...

So the bottom line, religious institutions must still buy plans that cover contraception, abortafacients, and sterilization, but the insurance companies must pay for it. Bottom line, they still cannot buy a plan without it. Nothing changes. Compromise in the Obama generation.

The announced HHS “compromise” requiring insurance companies, rather than religious institutions, to pay for abortion, contraception, and sterilization, may be a step in the right direction, but it still has huge problems that need addressing. The Church will still be footing the bill. Pro-life insurance companies will be outlawed.

This week in my own parish I discovered an untapped reserve of energy, enthusiasm and determination among my people. The drill that unleashed this gusher was our Bishop's letter standing firm against the unjust HHS mandate by the Obama administration. As our Bishops stood united the entire Church united behind them.

I would need a lot more than "permission" to vote for any of the Republican candidates.
I'd probably need several hypnosis sessions (although I've heard that hypnosis will only do what you want anyway, so they might not work....)
Brainwashing techniques? I'm not sure exactly what they are....
I would definitely need primal scream therapy or something stronger than that to vote for Romney, who represents the investment banking firms who have ruined our economy and caused traumatic disruptions to our lives and the lives of so many of our friends and family members.
I would not consent to a lobotomy...there are enough conservatives out there already who seem to have had them.
But no, I don't need "permission" to study and reflect and pray and vote for a candidate I won't need hypnosis, brainwashing, primal scream therapy, or a lobotomy to choose.
