Majority opinion, written by the bastion of conservative thought, that Catholic of Catholic, the guy who every conservative in America thinks is the greatest judical thinker in the 20th and 21st centures...
...wait for it..
Antonin Scalia
Hold that the religious beliefs are not enough, in and of themselves, to grant protection from civil requirements imposed by the legislators in the civil arena.
The Supreme Court is on the Administration's side on this.

That was an abomination of a ruling from the Supreme Court. How does sacramental wine get a free pass during prohibition and especially when many States still had blue laws in place while peyote use for religious purposes gets shunned?
That's why the Religious Freedom Restoration Act was so unanimously passed by both the Senate and Congress, and with the recent ruling in Gonzales v. O Centro Espirita Benficiente Uniao do Vegetal, I would not be surprised if Employment Division v. Smith gets completely overruled.

IMO, the suit should go on. To stop abuse from Obama and those who agree that the govt. can regulate religious institutions as they please. To back down and say ok means later on with backs to the wall, they will have to enter suit again. A question the Supremes could ask - why didn'[t you go ahead with your suit now.
I applaud EWTN.

I wouldn't put much past A. Scalia's ego and general corruption.
It's his decision and I don't think he'll overrule himself.
His vote means Thomas' (Thomas votes with Scalia all but like twice in history)
Robert's isn't about to overrule a law that allows an employer to drug test an employee.
Aleto is to stupid to do anything except go with the flow.
and Kennedy agreed with this ruling the last time and isn't the overruling kind.
That's five to uphold the president.

Don't be too surprised, especially when it's Catholicism at the helm; you've got 3 Roman Catholics on the bench, not too sure about Sotomayor, but wouldn't be surprised if she's Catholic too: Being Puerto Rican.
That's why that ruling was stupid: Christianity and Judaism, we'll scrutinize this to hell and back to allow something that is prohibited elsewhere. Native American practices...those savages!
EDIT: Since Davis, there are 7 new judges on the court. It's also not unheard of for a Supreme Court Judge to flip-flop:
O'Conner agreed with the majority in Bowers v. Hardwick where homosexuals didn't have a right to privacy and that there was nothing unconstitutional in a State prohibiting homosexual sodomy.
Fast forward to Lawrence v. Texas, where at that point, all states allowed sodomy between heterosexual couples, and the Court strikes down laws prohibiting homosexual sodomy as a violation of equal due process.
O'Conner's concurrence with the Court is seen as a "my bad."

And so he slides it to the insurance companies paying. Anyone here think that the insurance companies are really gonna give it for free? Or add it to the cost each individual pays for insurance? What a looser Obama is.

I’ve been following politics my whole life. I understand the politicians live in a different world than the rest of us. But is still surprises me when they work from a different dictionary.
We’re talking now about the Administration and their mandate that all employers, including Catholic institutions, will be forced to offer their employees health coverage that includes sterilization, abortion-inducing drugs, and contraception — free of charge.
Having inadvertently dragged the Church into electoral year politics, the Administration has now started talking about “compromise” to take some of the heat off. To most normal people, the word “compromise” means that people sit down, talk to each other as equals, and try to work out something that will respect each other’s beliefs and values. An online dictionary defines it as “a settlement of differences by mutual concessions”.
Not much of a compromise when Obama closed the doors to the Bishops. That Obama is a sneaky and under handed man.
