The Life Stages Hangout (18 and older only)A general hang out for anyone....This group was especially made in the life stages area to facilitate the needs of those moving thru life stages by out growing different life stage groups. Here they can still be connected and maintain close relationships with members in those groups they need to leave or they out grow.
I made arrangements three weeks ago to have flowers delivered to my wife at work today. It was the first time that she worked at a place where she could get them, so I made sure it would happen. She was very excited.
She already gave me my gift and she will get her other gift tonight. Usually I give her jewelry, but we were a little short on money this year, so I did the flowers instead.

My wife seemed to be very happy with my Valentine's gift to her this morning (detailed earlier in this thread...I think). Given how I worried about it, that was a big relief.

As the years have gone by, DH & I have gotten less into Valentine's Day. We went to get our passports done (we're going on a cruise in April), and tonight we're going to see The Woman in Black.
The first year we were together, however, we signed the lease and got the keys for our first apartment together on Valentine's Day, so that night, we took the TV and DVD player to the completely empty apartment (we were moving in the next day) and had a picnic on the floor (Subway) while we watched The Wedding Planner.
And a couple of years ago, DH surprised me with a Vermont teddy bear dressed as a pirate... so adorable!

I ended up buying 50/50 for my husband. It was only $15 at Wal*Mart and we both really liked that movie...how could I pass it up?! So, needless to say he felt "pressured" (his word) and said he would feel terrible if he didn't get me something small in return. I ended up with lilies, my favorite (roses can die..I hate them) and a pint of my favorite ice cream (which I have already consumed in one sitting. Don't judge, I'm 20 weeks pregnant).
I also made a smothered chicken for dinner...it was pretty good.

We ended up going out to eat at some fancy schmancy place in the city and then to see The Vow -which was a very sweet story. I got fancy chocolates, roses, and beautiful card.

Pretty cheesecake! We saw the vow too! I was actually incredibly disappointed by it. The real story is sooo much better than the movie! Though I did see it with Austin...so it was 2 hours of snuggling in the theatre.
Austin and I had a picnic in the living room and Bible study. Later we wandered around the mall for a while (something we love to do) followed by an early supper at The Cheesecake Factory and going to the movies.
