Yoga derives from Hinduism which is a false religion. Christians are not suppose to be involved in yoga. There is nothing Christian about yoga.

Ephesians 5 verse 1-13 states:

[1] Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
[2] And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
[3] But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
[4] Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
[5] For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
[6] Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
[7] Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
[8] For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
[9] (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth
[10] Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
[11] And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
[12] For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
[13] But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

I remember talking online to someone who is heavily in yoga and he was having conversations with spirit guides (demonic spirits) and these demonic spirits keep on leading him to go deeper in yoga.

Talk to your friend and be honest explaining what God's word, the bible, has to say about this. She also needs to ask Jesus Christ to forgive her for being involved in yoga.

I totally agree...Scripture is scripture. I told my friend but she is of the same fact that it relaxes her and feels at peace when she does yoga. yoga has some origins, which clearly most people are not aware of.Some do it because they have heard it's the best way to get in shape, thinking of Jesus and doing yoga? Thou shall not worship any other God, it is written.

better than thinking of false idols and doing yoga...
What about thinking of Jesus and dancing?

Yoga means to York. Being joined together united for a cause. Stretching is good for us, it's good to exercise, I run for exercise. But why does your stretching have to be in yoga postures where you stay too forced to disconnect yourself from humans, meditate and allow nothing else to fill you, when you can have the holy spirit fill you up,to give you peace? why not just exercise without calling it christian yoga? The purpose behind yoga is to achieve union with the Hindu concept of God...whether you are doing it knowingly or unknowingly.

Are you saying people who do hatha yoga (stretching, breathing) are whoremongers, unclean, covetous or idolaters? To be an idolater wouldn't you have to actually, I don't know, worship an idol?

I remember talking online to someone who is heavily in yoga and he was having conversations with spirit guides (demonic spirits) and these demonic spirits keep on leading him to go deeper in yoga.
And if you let Jesus be your guide, how can you go wrong?

Talk to your friend and be honest explaining what God's word, the bible, has to say about this. She also needs to ask Jesus Christ to forgive her for being involved in yoga.

What about thinking of Jesus and dancing?
Depends what that dancing means. If that type of dancing is associated with anything evil or bad, why involve Jesus into it? There are certain things you know of that are not of God in the world, but can't don't in the name of God.
If someone was stealing(God forbid)and told you they were thinking of Jesus what would you say? How is it right to say, "Oh, I know yago is not good but I think of Jesus doing it, while doings the tenets?". I've read a few things about yago origins, the purpose, its roots,the motive...I think you are ignoring the religious aspect of yoga...you can't though.
