Chicken jerky treats sicken 353 dogs, owners report, made in China.
Reports of illnesses in dogs given chicken jerky treats have spiked dramatically following a new government warning about pet snacks made in China.
The federal Food and Drug Administration has logged at least 353 reports this year of illnesses tied to imported chicken jerky products, also sold as chicken tenders, chicken strips or chicken treats, a spokeswoman said.
I refuse to feed my animals anything made in china, or give them toys made anywhere but here in the US. American made pet food isn't so great either.. ( most of it) we stick to a good quality American made food (form American raised meat) for the cats and the dogs - it's killing my wallet but they all eat taste of the wild.
A couple years back my son's friend gave my dog a bully stick (which is gross in itself no matter where it's from) that originated from China and the poor thing was puking for 3 days and had the runs for a week.. and that was WITH medical intervention.

Well, we can add this to the list of poisonous baby formula, toxic-painted toys, and caustic-chemical rubber sandals that we have bought in the past from our Communist friends in the People's Republic.

We don't want to pay what it costs to manufacture quality goods and we want to believe that profit margins can be huge while paying workers a couple dollars a day and not have strange stuff end up in your goods.

Because the importers make an incredible profit margin, that's why - because the buy them dirt cheap and mark them up a LOT.

I try not to use anything from China especially food stuffs. I used to put these rice noodles from China in my soup and I couldn't understand why I had stomach pains afterwards until I stopped using the noodles. China and such countries just don't have the hygiene and production standards that we have in our countries and as such some of their foods and other products can have dangerous levels of toxins in/on them.
