This depends on who will be there to enjoy them. Note: if this be a cat, dog or any other household pet, no. Only because they wouldn't be able to call 911 in case of fire.

Usually on my birthday, January the 8th when everyone puts their tree in the garbage. We have a synthetic one so I usually use that day to put everything back in it's place for next year.
