I continue to be concerned about most of the programs for children. Even watch some of those?

The sun-shine baby-thing on the TV screen (in the pic above) gives me the creeps.

Me too. We have 4 kids under 6. We got Sky Angel programming which is for the most part Christian programming, but not all. But even with that you have to be careful. We monitor the shows and limit it's use and put on the Radio Stations on there that have sermons and music.

I'm glad that you're not making assumptions. I'm alarmed at the number of programs that have witches, spells, etc. and many have their characters show disrespect. On Shaking It UP, one said if an adult is correcting you, imagine that they're in their underwear.

I don't currently have cable and in a way, it's great. I watch a few shows I enjoy online and the rest of the time I watch t.v. is spent watching DVDs of shows like Little House on the Prairie, The Muppet Show, and M*A*S*H. I'm moving south and will probably get cable again to watch the news, Christian programming, and a few select shows.

I watch maybe 3 or 4 programs on tv. The rest of the time- like the poster directly above me- I watch dvds of programs like Little House, The Waltons, Rockford Files, etc. So I don't even have cable. Why waste the money. And now we have ME TV, Antennae TV, and others that show mostly the older shows.

It's impossible for me to watch TV. I hate it. I really really do. What would be considered porn back in 50s is now just an advertisement. Also the amount of anti-God stuff is just overwhelming. Maybe that's not the experience you guys had but I had it. I'm saying this because you shouldn't personally relate to my post. I personally resent TV. It's a box with a moving image. Why would I watch it is beyond me. This struck me few weeks ago. My mom was watching some Turkish show and I thought fine, nothing pornographic about it but it was just dull and boring but whatever. The next show that came is just not something a Christian should watch. There may be Godly TV programs. I'm yet to see such.

Sad Sex on a Saturday morning!

I turned on my television this morning and there on the USA network for all to see (including kids flipping through channels looking for their favorite cartoon) was a graphic scene of a man and a woman having intercourse in the middle of a crowded street. Please join me in reporting this to the FCC at: http://apps.fcc.gov/cgb/fcc475B.cfm#zip1 The movie aired between 8:00am and 9:30am on my cable. The title of the movie was "Crank". It's this blatent disrespect for public decency that almost has me convinced to stop watching television all together! This stuff has become so prevalent that I'm not sure you can protect your kids from it anymore other than throwing the tv in the trash or only allowing them to play pre-selected DVD's!

I am a TV nut I watch a lot of stuff on Nickelodeon and TeenNick; which I know is quite juvenile, but that's me. I also watch country music videos 95% of the time when I'm not watching anything else. I'm careful with the content though; I don't watch anything that makes me uncomfortable. As for reality t.v. - American Idol.
