There are six more points that are crucial to understanding the great significance of the anti-typical Jubilee. In this post we will be dealing with the first of these six.

FIRST:

The first point that we need to know is that there are 7 different kinds of “Sabbaths” revealed in God's plan of salvation, all found in Leviticus 23 to 25 KJV.

At first glance this list may appear confusing. Please bear in mind the vision of Ezekiel (Ezekiel 1:16) in which he saw a wheel turning within a wheel, showing the perfect synchronization of all God's designs.

The brightest of these Sabbaths is the Holy 7th day Sabbath, calculated by the sun, while the other six are “shadows” or prophecies of the 7th day Sabbath. These are calculated by the new moon.

To name these seven kinds of Sabbaths, then, we begin with the Holy 7th day Sabbath, the 12 annual “shadow” Sabbaths dispersed among the various feast days, the Sabbath of “shadow” Sabbath days, (Leviticus 23:15, 16) the 49th day in the count from Wave Sheaf to Pentecost, the Sabbath month which ends the sacred year and in which all the closing events are illustrated, the Sabbath year, (Leviticus 25:2-4) also called the year of release in which a certain class of Hebrew slaves were set free (Deuteronomy 15:1, 9), and the Sabbath of Sabbath years(Leviticus 25:8) the 49th year, the year preceding the Jubilee year, and theSabbath millennium which begins at the voice of God giving the day and hour of the second coming of Christ, when the anti-typical Jubilee commences.

We will examine the meaning and the significance of each one of these different kinds of Sabbaths and the place they hold in the anti-typical fulfillment of God's plan of salvation.

THE HOLY SEVENTH-DAY SABBATH (WEEKLY):

The Sabbath was committed to Adam,...Thus the institution was wholly commemorative, and given to all mankind. There was nothing in it shadowy or of restricted application to any people.” PP 48

The seventh-day Sabbath is the very hub from which all of the other types of Sabbaths emanate and receive their glory. The seventh-day Sabbath is calculated from the cycle of the sun alone, whereas, all the other types of Sabbaths are calculated from the cycle of the moon, aided by the sun. Therefore, the seventh-day Sabbath shines the brightest of them all, just as the sun shines brighter than the moon.

The seventh-day Sabbath is not a prophecy, a type, or a shadow, whereas all the other 6 different kinds of Sabbaths are a prophecy, a type, and a shadow of the seventh-day Sabbath. In the same way as the sun is the originator of light, and the moon is only a reflector of that light, so these “shadowy” Sabbaths calculated from the moon, only reflect the light of the 7th-day Sabbath calculated by the sun.

“The Sabbath was committed to Adam,...Thus the institution was whollycommemorative, and given to all mankind. There was nothing in it shadowy or ofrestricted application toany people.” PP 48

“Without the death of Christ all this system (earthly sanctuary system) was meaningless. The Jews reject Christ, and therefore their whole system of religion is to them indefinite, unexplainable, and uncertain. They attach as much importance to shadowy ceremonies of types which have met their antitype as they do to the law of the ten commandments, which was not a shadow, but a reality as enduring as the throne of Jehovah.” RH May 6, 1875

Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it [is]a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that [ye] may know that I [am] the LORD that doth sanctify you.... It [is] a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. Exodus 31:13, 17.

And I gave them my statutes, and showed them my judgments, which [if] a man do, he shall even live in them. Moreover also I gave them my Sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I [am] the LORD that sanctify them. Ezekiel 20:11,12.

I [am] the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; And hallow my Sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I [am] the LORD your God.Ezekiel 20:19, 20.

For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.For he that is entered into hisrest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God [did] from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. Hebrews 4:9-11.

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. Genesis 2:2,3.

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day [is] the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates: For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8-11.

THE 12 ANNUAL (SHADOWY) SABBATHS:

God designed the entire Jewish economy, in such a way that both the events of the great plan of salvation, and the exact timing of these events were typified in the ritual round of ceremonies, which took a period of fifty years to complete, and then, began all over again. Within this ritual system there is a prophetic code which can easily be deciphered with the aid of the Holy Spirit, by any sincere and devoted Bible student. But one must pay close attention to all the intricate details of these rituals, using a literal translation like the King James Version of the Holy Bible, Young's Literal Translation, or the 1599 Geneva Bible.

There are exactly 12 annual (shadowy) Sabbaths listed in Leviticus 23-25 KJV, with 8 of these outlined within the spring feasts, and calculated from the first new moon after the spring equinox, according to the ancient Hebrew calendar, Hillel I, and the remaining 4, within the fall feasts, calculated from the seventhnew moon, the month of the harvest feasts.

These “shadowy Sabbaths” are, in verity, the prophetic code one must use to understand the precise timing of the plan which God gave to Moses, and it is this same code, that the Messiah revealed to His disciples in His teaching and in His fulfillment of the types at His first advent, that unlocks for future generations the timing of the types relating to His second advent.

The annual shadowySabbaths are calculated from the new moon, and occur in an exact seven-day sequence, as does the seventh-day Sabbath. All annual shadowy Sabbaths are calculated from only two of the new moons of the sacred year, the first new moon, and the seventh or last new moon, even though some of the annual “shadowy Sabbaths” extend through the second month and into the third month of the sacred year.

In Leviticus 23 (KJV) some of these annual feasts are specified as “Sabbaths”, “holy convocations”, and days of “no servile work”. Others are described as days of “holy convocations” and days of “no servile work”. Each has a distinctive meaning. Sabbath” means “Sabbath”; “holy convocation” means only, a “holy convocation”; and no “servile work” means only, “no servile work”. The “Sabbath” is a “holy convocation”, but a “holy convocation” is not necessarily a “Sabbath”. For example, Wednesday prayer meeting is a “holy convocation”, but it is not a “Sabbath”, and it is not a day of “no servile work”. There are only two feast days with the requirement of absolutely no work whatsoever. These two days are, the seventh-day Sabbath and the Day of Atonement.

To illustrate, let us look at God's specifications for the Day of Pentecost in Leviticus 23:15-21 KJV. One can clearly see that Pentecost is required to come theday after the seventh Sabbath counting from the Wave Sheaf offering, Wave Sheaf being the second day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread; Pentecost is specified to be a “holy convocation” and, also, a “day of no servile work”, but, it is not a Sabbath.

And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete: (16) Even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall ye number fifty days;....(21) And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations. Leviticus 23: 15-21 KJV.

Therefore, the Day of Pentecost falls on the day AFTER the seventh Sabbath counting from the day of the Wave Sheaf offering which is the 16th day of the first month.

These Sabbaths, eight of which are mentioned in the verses above (Lev. 23:15-21), are all “shadowy” Sabbaths, and described in Colossians 2: 16, 17 (KJV), as … “shadows of things to come”. They follow their own seven-day cycle beginning on the new moon of the first and the seventh month only, of the sacred year, although some of them extend through the second month and into the third month, as stated above. The purpose for these “shadowy” Sabbaths dispersed within the feast days, which are besides the seventh-day Sabbath, (Lev. 23:37, 38, Col 2:16) is to show, prophetically, exactly the days of the week, on which these feast days will ultimately meet their fulfillment, in relation to the weekly seventh-day Sabbath.

These “shadowy” Sabbaths are sometimes referred to as, “ceremonial Sabbaths”, but they, nor their purpose have been understood, as they must be. These “shadowy Sabbaths” (Colossians 2: 16, 17 KJV)are just that, shadows of seventh-day Sabbaths to come. Shadowy Sabbaths” are prophecies of future seventh-day Sabbaths. Each type in the old sanctuary system mentioned in Leviticus 23-25 has an anti-type . These Sabbaths can, truly, be called, the “type” and seventh-day Sabbaths the “anti-type”. The inspired statement below clearly shows that there were these two different kinds of Sabbaths.

One day as Elder Corliss stepped out of a train, the guard [conductor] stopped him with the request that he explain Colossians 2:16. They stopped, and as the crowd rushed by, the explanation was given, and from Leviticus 23:37, 38 it was shown that there were sabbaths besides the Sabbath of the Lord.” RH, January 7, 1896, by E.G. White.

Eight of the shadow Sabbaths dispersed within the spring feasts are mentioned in the following verses, Leviticus 23:15, 16.

And ye shall count unto you from the morrow afterTHE SABBATH, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; SEVEN SABBATHS shall be complete: Even unto the morrow after the SEVENTH SABBATH shall ye number fifty days;” Leviticus 23:15, 16.

The day before the Wave Sheaf, then, was to be a shadow Sabbath, along with the seven Sabbaths that are counted from the Wave Sheaf in seven-day sequences, up to the day before the Day of Pentecost, making the total of eight shadow Sabbaths in the spring feasts.

Jesus taught Moses, and later, His disciples, the prophecy that Passover occurs a day before a Sabbath and that the Wave Sheaf offering occurs “on the morrow after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it.” Leviticus 23:11 (KJV) which is the third day from Passover. To His disciples He said, “Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day.” Luke 24:46

The Passover was observed on the 14th day of the first month, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the 15th day, a “shadow” Sabbath, and the Wave Sheaf was offered on the 16th day, the day after the “shadow” Sabbath.

“...on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.” Leviticus 23:11.

Although Josephus, the first century Jewish historian, states that the Wave Sheaf offering was always waved on the 16th day of the first month (See quotation below), we are privileged to have much more positive proof than that in the teaching of the Messiah, as well as, His fulfillment of the Wave Sheaf offering. We also have the inspired writings of the prophet, E. G. White.

Josephus, a reknowned Pharisee; [Antiquities III, Chapter X, Paragraph 5]

"In the month of Xanthicus, which is by us called Nisan, and is the beginning of our year, on the fourteenth day of the lunar month, when the sun is in Aries, (for in this month it was that we were delivered from bondage under the Egyptians,) the law ordained that we should every year slay that sacrifice which I before told you we slew when we came out of Egypt, and which was called the Passover; and so we do celebrate this passover in companies, leaving nothing of what we sacrifice till the day following. The feast of unleavened bread succeeds that of the passover, and falls on the fifteenth day of the month, and continues seven days, wherein they feed on unleavened bread; on every one of which days two bulls are killed, and one ram, and seven lambs. Now these lambs are entirely burnt, besides the kid of the goats which is added to all the rest, for sins; for it is intended as a feast for the priest on every one of those days. But on the second day of unleavened bread, which is the sixteenth day of the month, they first partake of the fruits of the earth, for before that day they do not touch them. And while they suppose it proper to honor God, from whom they obtain this plentiful provision, in the first place, they offer the first-fruits of their barley, and that in the manner following: They take a handful of the ears, and dry them, then beat them small, and purge the barley from the bran; they then bring one tenth deal to the altar, to God; and, casting one handful of it upon the fire, they leave the rest for the use of the priest. And after this it is that they may publicly or privately reap their harvest. They also at this participation of the first-fruits of the earth, sacrifice a lamb, as a burnt-offering to God. "

BIBLE EVIDENCE:

From that time forth began Jesus to show unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.” Matthew 16:21

Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.” Matthew 17:22, 23

And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,
Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify [him]: and the third day he shall rise again.” Matthew 20:17-19

For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.” Mark 9:31, 32

And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,
[Saying], Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:
And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.” Mark 10:32-34

And he straitly charged them, and commanded [them] to tell no man that thing; Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.” Luke 9:21, 22

And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third [day] I shall be perfected” Luke 13:32

And they shall scourge [him], and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.” Luke 18:33

Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. And they remembered his words,” Luke 24:7, 8

But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done..... “And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.” Luke 24:21, 27

And he said unto them, These [are] the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and [in] the prophets, and [in] the psalms, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: “ Luke 24:44-46

Christ arose from the dead as the first fruits of those that slept. He was the antitype of the wave sheaf, and His resurrection took place on the very day when the wave sheaf was to be presented before the Lord.” Desire of Ages, 785, 786

These types were fulfilled, not only as to the event, but as to the time. On the fourteenth day of the first Jewish month, the very day and month on which, for fifteen long centuries, the passover lamb had been slain, Christ, having eaten the passover with his disciples, instituted that feast which was to commemorate his own death as “the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” That same night he was taken by wicked hands, to be crucified and slain. And as the antitype of the wave-sheaf, our Lord was raised from the dead on the third day, “the first-fruits of them that slept,” [1 Corinthians 15:20].” GC88 399

The ancient Hebrew calendar that was in use during the time of Christ until approximately the middle of the fourth century, observed the Wave Sheaf offering on the 16th day of the first month, which month began on the new moon after the spring equinox. This ancient calendar is known today as the Hillel I calendar. From the middle of the fourth century the Hillel II calendar was formulated and adopted by the majority of the Jews and is still in use today. Hebcal, the perpetual Hebrew calendar uses the principles of the Hillel II calendar.

There is no inspired evidence that would indicate any variation from the 16th day of the first month for the celebration of the Wave Sheaf.

THE HOLY SEVENTH-DAY SABBATH ON THE NEW MOON
INTERPRETS GOD'S MYSTERIOUS PROPHETIC CODE

All the feast days in the old sanctuary system were scheduled from the new moon of the first month of the sacred year, (the beginning of which was “corresponding to the last of March and the beginning of April.” PP . 537.)

Whenever the new moon, used to designate the timing of the feast days, (which would be the first and the seventh new moon, beginning the first and the seventh month of the sacred year), falls on a seventh-day Sabbath, then all the “shadowy” Sabbaths (ceremonial Sabbaths)which are calculated from that new moon, also, fall on seventh-day-Sabbaths KJV. This is God's mysterious code. It was this prophetic code that Jesus revealed to His disciples 2000 years ago, which, was later lost during the dark ages, and is only now being rediscovered by God's people.

2. This is apparently the reasonGod links these two significant days together, the seventh-day Sabbath and the new moon, in the new heaven and the new earth which He will create. In combination, they are the “key”, that unlocks the prophecies of Moses, as revealed in the old covenant system of Hebrew worship. (Isaiah 66:22-24.)

For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, [that] from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.” Isaiah 66:22-24.

And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:” Rev. 12:1 KJV.

THE 52 DAYS OF THE SPRING FEASTS EVERY YEAR

3. The spring feast days from Passover to Pentecost number 52 days, according to the Bible evidence (Leviticus 23:5-16, 1 Corinthians 15:4 KJV), and the main Hebrew calendars in use today. (There is no variation in the count of the days, or the manner of observance from year to year)

There is a difference, however, between the ancient Hebrew calendar, (the Hillel I), used from the time of Moses until the middle of the 4th century, approximately 354 C.E. and the more recent Hillel II calendar, used from the middle of the 4th century until today. The Hillel I calendar began the 52 days from the 14th day of the first month, and ended the count on the Day of Pentecost, (as specified in Leviticus 23) whereas, the Hillel II calendar begins the 52 days on the first day of Unleavened Bread (the 15th) and adds an extra day after the Day of Pentecost, thus maintaining the 52-day setting of the spring feasts and avoiding the possibility of another Friday Passover experience, such as occurred in 31 C.E. when Jesus fulfilled the spring feast days.

The ceremonies within the spring feast days were observed unvaried every year, indicating that there was no specially designated year, from the writings of Moses, when these spring feast days would meet their fulfillment. (The prophet Daniel, however, in Daniel 9:27says it was to occur in the midst of the 70th week of years.) This, however, was not the case for the fall feast days.

THE 22 DAYS OF THE FALL FEASTS HAVE
EXTRA SPECIAL SIGNIFICANCE ONLY IN THE
SABBATICAL AND THE JUBILEE YEARS

4. Unlike the spring feasts, which were observed unvaried every year, the fall feast days, 22 literal days, had extra special ceremoniesthat where performed only in theSabbatical and Jubilee years, clearly, indicating that their main fulfillment would be in these two special years.

Some of the fall feast days had extra special ceremonies in the Sabbatical year only (the year of release). The law of God was read to all, men, women, children, and the stranger during the days of the Feast of Tabernacles (Deuteronomy 31:10-16). This practice was reserved just for the Sabbatical year (the year of release).

Deuteronomy 31:10-13 KJV “And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of [every] seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles, When all Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing. Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that [is] within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law: And [that] their children, which have not known [any thing], may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.)”

5. The Day of Atonement also, had extra special significance in the Sabbatical year (year of release), when certain classes of Hebrew slaves were set free (Deuteronomy 15:1, 12). This evidence shows that a fulfillment of the Day of Atonement can be expected to take place in a Sabbath year. No doubt, this is the Sabbatical year that precedes the year of Jubilee.

There are 4 “shadowy” Sabbaths in the fall feasts that must all fall on seventh-day Sabbaths in their fulfillment, and this always occurs in two consecutive years, Remember the year before the Jubilee year is always a Sabbatical year.

6. There is onlyone feast day that had extra special significance, in both, the Sabbatical year and in the year of Jubilee, and that fall feast day is the Day of Atonement. In the Sabbatical year a certain class of Hebrew slaves were set free (Deuteronomy 15:1, 12. PP 532).

The Day of Atonement has special significance in its fulfillment in the Sabbatical year, but its prime fulfillment was reserved for the commencement of the Jubilee. Leviticus. 25:8-10

Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubilee to sound on the tenth [day] of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land. And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout [all] the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you;” Leviticus 25:9,10

And [this] shall be a statute for ever unto you: [that] in the seventh month, on the tenth [day] of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, [whether it be] one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:
For on that day shall [the priest] make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, [that] ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD.

It [shall be] a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever. Leviticus 16:29-31

7. All other slaves waited for the Jubilee trumpet to sound on the Day of Atonement of the Jubilee year (Leviticus. 25:9,10, PP 534). The Jubilee trumpet was blown only on that special Holy day, when all slaves where set free from slavery.Jesus designed the Day of Atonement to occur on the tenth day of the seventh month, because only then, are all four of the “shadowy Sabbaths within the fall feast days, positioned to come on seventh-day Sabbaths in these two consecutive years, the very years when they have their extra special significance. Isn't that amazing!

What a holy loving mastermind is our Lord and Savior, that He would design and implement such a precise and intricate plan for the salvation of man, and that He would then share all the details of this glorious plan with His created beings, giving them insight into the mysteries of the deep things of God.

Greetings, East Coast Remnant and Stryder06,

Some of these posts get rather lengthy with all the details. As far as I've gone, am I making myself clear enough to understand what I am meaning?
Hope I'm not overwhelming you.

Martinman I first want to advocate that "jubile" was very important to both Redemption and Salvation. Matter of fact all illustrations, and prophecies provided in the Old Testament will be repeated during the Time of Trouble and to herald in the Second Coming of Yashua. It is to realize that the word "jubile" also refers to the blowing of the ram's horn and this event will be the triumph as a trumpet is heard blowing for the final jubile in the second coming of the Savior. Here the land will have a sabbatical rest from sin before it cleansing and rebirth.

Jublie also stood for love and kindness to all and forgiveness to others who have done us wrong. It was to point to the compassion that Elohim has for us as we should have for our fellowman which soon the Jews fell short in remembering. They should have remembered how they were saved from bondage and to treat others with love and kindness. It should be a lesson to SDA when we speak to one another as well as other they do not understand the truth as we have on our spiritual journey. We should never put anyone down but lift up the name of Yashua with love, dignity and kindness.

The Jews lost sight of jubile because they made a partition between themselves and others who was not of Jewish descent. Also they made the claim that they are the first in Elohim sight when Peter learned "that Elohim is no respect of person." We too will learn that all will not come through the SDA Church that will be saved and the remnant will include sheep of other fold. This will be a great day of Jubilee for all mankind!

Then commenced the jubilee, when the land should rest. EW 35

I am probably missing something simple here, but how could the spring feast days always start on the 14 day of the first month if it follows the lunar cycle?

Other that that little confusion, I'm thoroughly enjoying the presentation.
