Shocking! Halliburton, who was awarded the contract in a NO BID process, has been caught overcharging the US government by millions of dollars. I'm sure no one could have predicted that! Maybe we should convene a comission and recommend that Halliburton police itself so that it doesn't happen again....
In previous wars, war profiteering was considered treason. Now its just standard business practice in the Bush administration. Can't wait until this guy is removed from office.

Treason is an impeachable offense in this country.

Apparently intergrity means "I'll keep my pants on in the Oval Office while I fork over billions of US tax dollars to my coporate friends".

Reps: 1,669 (power: 0) | | | Of course none of the liberals read the whole story which stated:
Houston-based Halliburton apparently didn't profit from the overcharging, the officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity. The problem, the officials said, was that Halliburton paid a subcontractor too much for the gasoline in the first place.
That darn thing called the truth keeps getting in the way of the Bush bashing. |

Does it matter if it is on the buying part or the selling part? If somone is charging me 2 plus dollars when I know it only cost 1 dollar, wouldn't it be funny if I still decides to buy it?
There was the exact same thing that happened in another country, we called it a "scandal", and even 10 years after they are still doing the investigating and the newspapers are still reporting about it, trying to dig deeper into the truth, while the top military and government officials trying to cover things up and the only military general who knew what was going on and were willing to uncover it was murdered, alone with his family.
It is just weird that people here seem to be very forgiving, apparantly you guys just don't care, completely apathetic. Hell, even the media behaves very funny, they report it if it is still the headline, but if public loose interests, everything gets droped, while OJ's, MJ's, and Paterson's news gets reported for years. Thanks to capitalism and the allmighty dollar, plus a helping public.
Sure, your curruptions are more well hidden and appears more 'civil', but hell, it is the same crab. Do you even understand why curruption is same seriousness as treason, yet you want to take everything lightly?

Reps: 2,759 (power: 0) | | | Can't help but wonder why the subcontractor wasn't named.
Either
A- Haliburton is run by fools
B- There is some kind of scandal
C- It looks much worse than it is and there is a perfectly logical explanation for why they recieved the contracts without bidding and why they are paying twice as much than they should. |

I'll automatically rule out possibily A.
