Sacramento's Largest PCUSA Church Leaves for EPC

"SACRAMENTO — After the vote, some church members wiped away tears. Others said they were relieved it was finally over.

Members of Fremont Presbyterian Church — the largest Presbyterian Church in the Sacramento region — ended months of speculation Sunday when they voted to leave their national denomination and join one that church leaders said reflects more traditional beliefs.

By a vote of 427 to 164, members voted to seek dismissal from the Presbyterian Church USA and join the Evangelical Presbyterian Church..."

Comments? Discussion? There are some bolting and other aspects of PCUSA trying to become presbyteries inside presbyteries. The Greater Atlanta presbytery is one trying to do this. All this can only lead to the continued deterioration of PCUSA or its balkanization. A sad, but inevitable state for my former presbyterian home. I had many, many tears when I had to say good-bye.

Time will tell, won't it?

Arminians have amnesia and don't recall the bondage of keeping women from preaching and the slaves from being free. The oldest protestant church has learned from their mistakes. Their not going to make another one ever again. Praise God for His Almighty work in the PCUSA.

Well at-least they are not losing their church building.

I notice on the papers, the budgets are being met and when I look around I wonder where all these money coming from. Rich people or coming from other churches.

I warned Bruce Reyes-Chow years ago he and his friends were destroying the denomination by pushing sexual immorality as acceptable for ordained members. He just basically said I was old-fashioned and had to move with the times.

Well, people are moving with the times.

Well those in the EPC, PCA* and OPC would say this move has been going on for some time.

PCusa don't have much new public data on why they chose the way they chose but I'd like to see what the other churches say regarding to whom can be ordained and would also like to know why the Wesleyans are also looking into the new method brought by Holy Spirit's guidance out of the old fashioned world.
