The game is pretty good Deus Ex until the boss fights. Then it locks you in a small area against a typical boss. Doing this totally nerfs your ability to play Deus Ex style. Other than that the game is pretty good.
Yeah, my friend said it was pretty good as well. I guess I might as well get it sometime when the price comes down (yeah I know I'm cheap). By that time I might have enough time to sit down and play it.
I always thought that boss fights were largely becoming a thing of the past, or maybe I just hoped they were... Being built like a tank and just charging at the player has always escaped me as an enjoyable fight. I've probably spent too much time playing Call of Duty games, idk.

In the first Deus Ex, which is cheap and everyone should play because its awesome, the bosses were tanks but you had freedom to fight them your way. It wasn't gladiator style where you were trapped into getting pummeled. The first sort of boss in the new Deus Ex was sort of a regular guy which is good for a boss to be. A regular guy with some skillz instead of a tank makes the game so much more interesting.

There are bigger issues for me though - primarily that you don't know who the heck these bosses are. At least in the first game you had some kind of connection to the boss characters.
I have much greater issues with that game though, not least the fact that with careful play you can unlock almost all the augs (and activating one track no longer blocks off the other), to say nothing of the chuffing ending *twitches*
