Whenever people are giving opinions or advice, I feel like whatever I write will be completely dismissed because of my age. I feel like people will see that I'm only 19 and think I'm just a "silly teenager" who is too young to have any credible opinions or thoughts.

Oh alright, I'll answer the question. I inlcude my age because I don't want anyone to have false notions about me. If I'm acting immature for my age, I should hear about it. If I'm on a better track, I should hear it.
Also, it's a reminder to Curwhibble that I shouldn't be matched up with middle-schoolers as is her preference.

I object to this slanderous remark. You should be thanking me for not just pulling names out of a hat with the mindset that if we keep on slinging matches at you one of them has to stick. The fact I think it would be best to shackle you to someone young enough to be shaped appropriately to deal with your eccentricities is neither here nor there.
As sort of/not really on topic note I feel a lot older than 23 but automatically respond with "17" whenever someone asks me how old I am. I need to defrag.
As another semi-related note when some posters suddenly reveal their ages a double take occasionally follows.
The viewable age should only really matter in age restricted forums/if someone is attempting to seduce a fellow forum member and needs to assure themselves they are not chasing after jail bait. Otherwise it's just a silly bunch of numbers which could be entirely false if someone lied on the sign up form.

I only hide very personal information from forums (exact address, real name, etc.) because I'm not really worried about someone tracking me down by my photos or vague bits of info. I'm not that important.
