I wonder how it would taste to get some large green olives (without any garlic, or almonds or anything), and put some cream cheese in them right before you eat them (so the cream cheese didn't get soaked in olive brine). I think I may try that soon.

Good food is Greek.

Greek/Mediterranean food goes beyond the stereotypical and over-emphasized dishes. I'm sure we can find you something that you'll like.

Have to admit...I'm an enormous fan of Greek & Mediterranean food. There's a big Greek population in my city, and a decent-sized Lebanese Christian group too. Good food all around...they definitely know how to make me consider conversion haha. I went Anglican for the coffee, but I wouldn't stay for the food when I compare it to Orthodox food. |

I'm not all that into Mediterranean food much myself, especially Greek food. Don't get me wrong - there are some dishes that I really dig - but as a whole, the style isn't for me. I tend to think that many of the dishes that are popular in Orthodox circles are overrated... and I LOATHE Russian food! So much of it is SO nasty! Why would anyone flavor watermelon with dill? Originally Posted by Protoevangel I can't think of a category of ethnic food I don't like. If our religion were based on our favorite food though, I'd be Catholic. Nothing better than Mexican food!!!
I couldn't agree with this more! I'll take Mexican for every meal, every day. That, and Italian. Come to think of it, I think that my food preference is from lands that were historically Catholic, whether affected by the Protestant Reformation or not. I'd take Italian or French food over Greek food any day of the week. But I'm sure that if I grew up with Mediterranean food being the "normal" kind of food, I'd probably think that Western European food was less enjoyable.

I'm not a huge fan of Greek food. I like a few things, but mostly, I'll pass.
I used to like the magiritsa that was served to break the lenten fast. Until I found out what was in it! Never again!! |

I've had the "monk" version of that, made with fish. Not too shabby. Generally, unless it's in a ground up state (like a sausage, part of why I like more northern and western foods), I tend to not want to eat the lower bowls of an animal.
Maybe your soup just needed more lemon...
