This is talked about somewhat frequently in here when talking about hell. We know that it says in the Scriptures that the lake of fire is prepared for the devil and his demons. But does it say that all those who reject Christ are going to be thrown into the lake of fire?
If one believes that heaven and hell are more of a state of being - being in the presence of God - Light and Love - that feels joyful and peaceful and comforting for those who love Him and agonizing and like burning fire for those who hate Him - then what does one think of the lake of fire.
Those who believe hell is a physical place (although it says God is everywhere in and in everything, so I'm not sure where this hell would be), is it different from the lake of fire, and do you believe everyone who has rejected Christ is tossed in there?

Rather explicit. Don't cha think?

contrary to the popular definition I would not call Hell (or the Lake of Fire) 'eternal separation from God'
As you pointed out that makes no sense because God is omnipresent. Rather Hell (LOF) is presence in the eternal wrath of God.

Uh, yeah, but what do you think the lake of fire is? A real lake on fire?

I would agree with you, except I'd say the eternal love and light of God.

I found it rather interesting that the word "lake" is mentioned only in 2 chapters of the Gospel of Luke outside of Revelation. 8:23 is also where the "kamikaze" swine are mentioned
Strong's Number G3041 matches the Greek λίμνη (limnē), which occurs 10 times in 10 verses in the Greek concordance of the KJV
Lake mentioned 11 times. 5 times in Luke [Luke 5:1,2 8:22, 23,33], 6 times in Revelation
3041. limne lim'-nay probably from 3040 (through the idea of nearness of shore); a pond (large or small):--lake.
3040. limen lee-mane' apparently a primary word; a harbor:--haven. Compare 2568.
Luke 5:1 It became yet, in the of the throng to be nearing to Him to be hearing the word of the God, and He was standing beside the lake/limnhn <3041> Gennesaret/gennhsaret <1082>,
2 and saw two boats standing by the lake/limnhn <3041>; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing [their] nets.
Luke 8:22 Now it came to pass on one of those days, that he entered into a boat, himself and his disciples; and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake/limnhV <3041>: and they launched forth. 23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake/limnhn <3041>; and they were filling [with water], and were in jeopardy.
8:33 And the demons came out from the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd rushed down the steep into the lake/limnhn <3041>, and were drowned.

The lake of fire is figurative of the state of being the world will be in when it is on fire. Those who are outside of the heavenly city are the ones who have rejected Christ, and they shall be destroyed, in the lake of fire, alongside Satan and his angels.

Isa 24:4 The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. 5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
The lake of fire is figurative of the state of being the world will be in when it is on fire. Those who are outside of the heavenly city are the ones who have rejected Christ, and they shall be destroyed, in the lake of fire, alongside Satan and his angels.
Then why is only a "great City" being shown being burned with fire in Revelation?
Reve 18:8 by this, in one day shall be arriving the blows of Her, death and sorrow and famine.
And in fire She shall be being burned,
that strong Lord, the God, the one judging Her
[Luke 19:41,44/Reve 19:3]
Reve 19:3 And a second-time they have declared "allelouia and the smoke of Her is ascending into the Ages of the Ages".
Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of the tormenting of Them is ascending into Ages to-Ages..........
[Luke 16:24,26]
I believe every word that the Bible says about the lake of fire; I don't believe what Rome says about it, nor what the apostate Churches say about it, nor what tradition says about it; but I certainly believe what the Bible says about it.

Uh, yeah, but what do you think the lake of fire is? A real lake on fire?
It is as John witnessed and testified to through his writing. Remember that the angel commanded John to only write about what he has seen. John saw it as something that looked like a lake on fire and sulfur. It certainly carries the idea of volcanic activity where we see an expanse of burning magma.

There is no context to warrant such an interpretation.
