A gold mine my spiritual director sent me. He's not "impressed" by my lamentations...in fact, as usual, he holds to the maddening convinction that this is all "part of the plan." Indeed, he never ceases to remind me that this burden comes on the heels of one of the greatest times of spiritual progress in my entire life. He still has faith in me; or, rather, faith in Someone who will complete what He has started in me.

Your spiritual director at this time is a vessel of God for your benefit. You are quite young but do not disdain the wisdom of your elders. In time you will see that your spiritual director's advice is God given. Give yourself time to grieve this loss. May God of all comforts give you peace and a new direction for you! |
