Marriage

The immoral Godless Homosexuals and their immoral liberal friends in New York have attacked marriage. They want to attack marriage in all 50 States. Is there any Restoration members who go to churches that tolerate the homosexual Agenda or believe that this sexual immorality should be tolerated? If the government forces churches to preform gay marriage ceremoniallies, what should the church do? Obey the law or not.

I believe marriage was attacked the moment it became a legal institution anyways. God knows who is truly married and whose marriage is a farce. I don't see real "harm" having been done. Now does that mean that I think they have the right to be married in a church? No. That is infringing on the rights of those who believe it is wrong.

Please let me explain. I personally believe marriage is one man and one woman for life. But marriage has been made such a farce already with the divorce rate that this hardly threatens it any more than it was already. Let them think they're married if they want. I will not consider them to be married, and neither will God. And I certainly wouldn't support anything that would would say that any pastor has to marry them. Let them have their civil ceremonies, but nothing more.

I know that the Disciples of Christ (a restoration movement group) do allow homosexuality. As for other restoration movement churches, it probably differs from church to church. Some probably do while the majority don't, at least in more conservative areas.

I don't believe that the government could force a church to perform the ceremony, though, if it didn't want to. Any individual pastor can say no to a homosexual marriage, as well they should.

Interesting, seeing as a pastor is not a biblical requirement for marriage. That's as silly as saying one must confess to a pastor so he can ask God forgiveness for my sins.

But you're right, with the divorce rates, it doesn't make any real difference.

Do you feel as worked up over sins such as gluttony, deceit, rage, lust, idolatry (of money, material etc)? Or is it just the politicized sins that we'd never commit? The divorce rate in your church is likely 50% based on the national average. Which do you think God is more concerned with, what professing Christians are doing, or what godless politicians legislate in a man-made government and the drudge report hypes up?

No pastor of CHRIST's Church is going to marry a gay couple. Will some false prophets such as Revs Al and Sharpie and their ilk? Sure, but they already are.

Nobody's ever suggested the government would force churches to marry anyone they don't believe they should marry. That's not the case in any of the states in which gay marriage is legal, nor would any advocates of gay marriage suggest that it should be.

Not here. Not by a stretch.
