I don't believe modern worship styles are in any way wordly activities

Jesus was the same yesterday, today and forever right?

That means Jesus is ALWAYS contempory. And if the church isn't contempory then it's not following Jesus.

Religion today is not transforming people; rather it is being transformed by the people. It is not raising the moral level of society; it is descending to society's own level, and congratulating itself that it has scored a victory because society is smilingly accepting its surrender. --A. W. Tozer

I know I do not get excited about going to the corp on Sunday, but I feel obligated to go because SA has invested so much into me.

However I really fantasize about joining a new age non denominational church where every Sunday is a rock concert for Jesus.

However until I get a new Major I am not going anywhere because I feel too obligated to my mentor/superior/boss. lol.

Sometimes, i don't see any difference between what happen with Luther and the Catholic church and the modern evangelical church. Back in those days, Luther was angry with the church for selling salvation; now, ive seen evangelicals do the same in many ways. this is the time when we need to stand up and preach the true gospel of Christ, a clean, biblical, non-humanist, God-glorifying Gospel.

WHAT we preach is not the question here though

It's how it's done.

CW I have to say that, while I sympathise with your need for a more inspiring style of worship, if you go to the other extreme of simply wanting a rock concert, that is not true worship of Jesus. it is Praise, I'll agree with that, but as Christians we also need to experience Christ quietly and intimately. We need to be taught from his word and spend time in serious prayer.

far too many people are walking away from the Army and losing far more than they gain. I would urge you not to do the same. Stay and press for change. Stay and make the Army what it once was and needs to be once more.

There is something strange about a lot of Evangelical music. If you listen to some of it,
the lyrics almost sound like pride, such as "I always think of You, Lord....Everything I ever did I did for You...." I'm not being judgemental, I would just like us to reflect on some of the modern music compared to how it could be, such as, using scripture in the lyrics, and having some humility about oneself.

HI CW, I am also 25 but feel the total opposite of you. The thought of standing and listening to songs for two hours does not feel like worshipping to me. I want to listen to teachings of Jesus and the sermon's are one of my favourite parts of church. I am not saying your style is wrong just pointing out that it is different strokes for different folks and I think therein lies the problem.
Everyone is different, some like to worship with music, a large group and lots of action, others like to sit and listen before praying quietly, how do you appeal to everyone?

Is not the Biblical command to warn sinner of the end result of un-confessed sin? Is not about 90% of the New Testament built solely on telling Christians to live in holiness? Is not there a strong message through out the New Testament that warns the sinner that without repentance of his sin he is Hell bound?

I note some are talking about joining the New Age movement. It puzzles me because in most cases the New Age Movement wants to amalgamate all religions into one. They want Christians to accept Islam, Hinduism, and the pagan religions of the world as equal partners. No where in the Bible is that idea part of the disciples or Jesus teaching.

Does the Bible not teach that there is one God; the Father and one Saviour; Jesus Christ. The last time I read Acts 4:12 it was still saying: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" Acts 4:12

That verse bars out the New Age Folks, Christ\Islam, and paganism of any kind.

I also understand that this Christ\Islam movement is being supported by some of the T.V. Mega (so called) Evangelical church groups.

A leading secular magazine has point out that the Protestant Liberal Churches are in trouble because of failing congregations and financial support. Some one has pointed out as well, that the Evangelical movement has now become a group of denominations with an Evangelical Theology which its members do not live by. It is now a movement where its ministers are fearful of loosing members if they come down hard on sin in the church.

God help us if these statements are true and most of the Evangelical Church I have been in over the last few years haven't seen a convert in that period of time. While back I heard a S.A. Major worrying about how many of his Uniform people were actional born-again.

Many Evangelicals who are honest will tell you they never read the Bible between Sundays and they never pray. If the pastor asks for some one to stand up and give a word of testimony there is dead silence across the floor. What kind of a witness are the Evangelicals in these churches? Are we honoring our God? Are we pointing men and women, boys and girls to Heaven?

Yes, God is a God of love but like any parent He has rules for, and demands for us to live by if we are going to Heaven. If we don’t play by the rules then we better not expect to be in Heaven.

Lesson learned. Stick to the King James Bible.
Never go to Bible school for indoctrination by men.
*******
It takes decades to release years of false thoughts and beliefs.
If they do not stick to the King James Bible... kick them out.
*******
All the modern versions are in deep purposeful error to dumb down the Christian.
It casts dobt upon their faith.
The organised church is the froggy in the water that incrementaly gets hotter and hotter and there IS NO ESCAPE by then.
Too many pastors are hirelings.
*******

Every word of God is pure:
Pick up that King James Bible and see the truth.
