Do not focus solely on condemnation, do not focus solely on love. You must make an equal balance between everything so that those who hear, hear all sides of the story. They need to know the whole truth, not just bits and pieces. And we are not to soften the blow of The Gospel, for Jesus didn't soften the blow of the truth. For The Bible is a double-edged sword that cuts at the soul.
Come on now. |

Wouldn't you agree? The point is that we ought to be using every opportunity available to us to scatter the seed of God's Word. Incidentally, God's Word not returning void doesn't mean that everyone who hears it will be saved. "Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ." (II Corinthians 2:14-17)
The gospel message that we proclaim will be a savour of death unto death for some and a savour of life unto life for others. Rather sobering.
Good point

I agree with almost all of this, but the gospel is a message of love.

I am not the one to be the critic. Way, way too often, I am hesitant to witness (or I just flat out don't witness) because I am afraid of doing something wrong. These guys are witnessing. They may screw up, but they are witnessing and I am not. |

This is the message we preach. There is no other good news to Israel than this, it is what saved me. |

My question was fruitless not the responses.

OpenDoor: No offense, but I disagree. Quite frankly, I was somewhat "thrilled" (seriously) to see such a thread in this section of the forum. Who knows? Had it continued, it might have actually provoked some members to stop wasting their time here and actually try to reach the lost (not that there aren't a lot of lost folks here...regardless of what their icons/avatars state). Imagine that? Christians preaching the gospel and at a cost, no less, as opposed to just participating in what seems to be endless p*ssing contests. Now, that's a novel concept (around here, anyway), isn't it? | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
