Not only do they keep Saturday, but allot of them believe keeping Sunday is quite literally "the mark of the beast."

The SDA are an absolutely fascinating Church the Lord seems to have blessed them with much spiritual discernment. I recommend viewing pretty much anything by Walter Veith a pastor with the SDA.

I think I remember discovering evidence that Christians were keeping Saturday up to the 5th century. Those that continued after this period were killed for keeping it. I'll try and dig up the info.

Whilst I personally subscribe to most of the SDA belief system I'm not totally convinced about the mark of the beast.
To me that mark seems to have commercial connotions and they don't fit the 666 thing into their explanation very well.

However if you ever see a world wide law enforcing Sunday worship I'd start keeping Saturday tbh.

Every wondered why Sunday though? Of course the explanation given is this is the day Christ rose from the grave which is nice. However it's Sun - day - The day of the Sun - interesting to those that know how occultism has penetrated our faith. Who are we praying to when we pray on a Sun - day?

Every time the day is mentioned Jesus appeared to His followers post-cross (7 times!) it is the first day of the week, and Pentecost happened on the first day of the week. While this doesn't make Sunday the Sabbath, if you believe the Sabbath was given only to the nation of Israel as a sign (Exodus 31), it makes sense to gather on Sunday as compared to any other day.

I think another reason Christians gathered on Sunday was to differentiate themselves from the Jews, who were being persecuted. (It didn't work as Christians were persecuted, too.)

Revelation 1:10

"I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet."
We believe despite what the first guys with the SDA icon said, that the Lord's day is the Sabbath. The 4th commandment says that the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord. and the Lord's say is the Saturday Sabbath that was established at creation and not in the old covenant.

No one can accept the mark of the beast now because it has not been passed as yet. So no one who keeps Sunday as the Sabbath has the mark of beast now.

Although, I'm no longer SDA, and I don't believe in the requirement of Sabbath-keeping for Gentiles, I don't follow your logic here. Can you please explain why it makes sense to now gather on Sunday?

Sunday the day of the resurrection was the day of First Fruits... Just as Yeshua fulfilled the Passover that year, so also did He fulfill the Feast of First Fruits... and then sent the Holy Spirit of Pentecost.. thus fulfilling all the spring feasts with His first coming... Now we have the fall feasts to look forward to being fulfilled... Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement and Feast of Tabernacles.

Yep.. there was a very tough law.. which definitely made it hard to continue being associated with Jews in faith.

Isaiah 58:13 - If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

The Sabbath here is refered to "my holy day". So, being in the Spirit on the "Lord's Day" can easily be referred to, as the Sabbath, because there is yet to surface scriptural evidence that Sunday is now "The Lord's Day".

God Bless (=

Jesus met with them post cross and it was not 7 times on the first day of the week because of the reason clearly stated in the bible.

Joh 20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

That's the reason. It had nothing to do with them trying to seperate themselves. The only Christians who did this were Roman Christians who kept Sunday in Alexandria and Rome to separate themselves from the jews.
