Why do most people believe GOD favours their ethnic race?

I am confused when i hear sometimes people talk about how GOD favours their race thats why they are superior. I am troubled more with this than any other thing I can think its like i know the bible a little bit i am not gonna lie but really does he favour some races than others? If so that really makes me sad.
