How to teach children play chess

For example, a 4 year old girl...
I am a good player, but she doesn't want to hear anything about rules. Just moves her pieces anywhere she wants

You could encourage a different take on chess if it helps. How about playing with using only one set of piece type? So like pawns versus pawns... King versus King, etc. Until when the basics of movement is grasped and all pieces can be played on the board.

Either that or you have no chance at winning a game, when she roams her pieces anywhere she wants.

4 is probably too early in terms of cognitive development of a child. I like the advice of taking on piece type and using it to teach the movement. Shoots and Ladders is more appropriate for 4 year olds, though kudos for trying and I hope you can make some progress.

Former World Chess Champion Anatoly Karpov learnt chess when he is 4 years old and so I do not think is too early for a 4 year old child to learn chess.
