Day 3 of creation
I am teaching the third day of creation this Sunday and I need some suggestions on a game, craft or other type of activity that can go with this lesson. Day 3 talks about and creating dry land, trees and plants.
I need a craft idea that they would be able to put into their booklet that they are making for this series. The only thing I can think of is to have them color and draw trees, plants, land and those type of things.
An activity I saw, which would be an object lesson would be to take a bowl and put a little water in it and take a big rock and put into the saucer showing how the water separated and "made" the land appear. Then take flowers and grass and put around it.
I found a matching game but I want to know if anyone has any other ideas on a game.
I will also be reviewing day 1 and day 2 and doing the song and sign language for the scripture. I really am trying to make my class more fun and exciting and have the children be more involved.

I need ideas to go with this lesson by Sunday. I'm using ministry to children to get my lessons with this series, but I need ideas to go with it and some questions that I could ask to get the children thinking about what was created on day 3
Maybe I should have posted these a few weeks ago so I could have some ideas by the time I need them. I am so not creative when it comes to adding something to make the lesson more fun.

This is the lesson that I have. I can't think of anything to do for a game or craft though. If I wouldn't have waited so late to work on this, then I could have gathered some stuff together to use as visuals. I wish I could get some diffferent types of fruit seeds and make it into a game by telling the children what type of seed it is then mix them up and have the children guess which one is which. Please let me know if anyone has any fun or interesting activity, craft or game that will get the children thinking about what God created on this day.
The lessons we have been talking about comes from the first book of the Bible: Genesis. Genesis means beginning. Everybody say that word with me. What does Genesis mean?
Create means, “to make something out of nothing ”.
Make means, “make something is to already have ingredients and just putting them together ”.
DAY 1 AND 2 REVIEW
What did God create on the first day of creation?” light
What did God create on the second day of creation?” the sky to separate the water
What is the difference between ‘making’ and ‘creating’?” to make something is to already have ingredients and just putting them together and to create something means to make something out of nothing
Did God create or make the world?” create…He didn’t have anything to start with
God didn’t need anything to create the world. All God had to do was speak things into existence. Wow isn’t that amazing.
Today’s bible lesson comes from Genesis 1:9-13
“God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered into one place. Let dry ground appear.” And that’s exactly what happened. God called the dry ground “land.” He called the waters that were gathered together “oceans.” And God saw that it was good. Then God said, “Let the land produce plants. Let them bear their own seeds. And let there be trees on the land that bear fruit with seeds in it. Let each kind of plant or tree have its own kind of seeds.” And that’s exactly what happened. The land produced plants. Each kind of plant had its own kind of seeds. The land produced trees that bore fruit with seeds in it. Each kind of tree had its own kind of seeds.
God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning on the third day.” Again, God is looking at His creation and saw that everything He had created so far was good.
God created dry ground so that the earth wouldn’t just be covered with water. Not everything that He was going to create would be able to live in the water. Up until this day, God had been preparing the earth for living things. Plants are the first living thing on the earth that God has created. He makes sure that the plants have their own seeds. Why do you think plants need seeds? (allow for responses) Right! God needed the plants to be able to make more plants, so He gave them seeds. Not only did God create plants with seeds, He now creates trees with fruit. The fruit also needed to have seeds.
Wow! What a big day the third day of creation has been! God made dry ground, plants and trees with fruit. He also named the land and the oceans.
OBJECT LESSON -- The object lesson is me bringing out some things while I say the versuses again.
Who was in the story? God
What was all together at the beginning of the story? Water
What did God create in the lesson today? The Land, Trees, Plants, Fruit
What number day was it in the lesson today? Three
What is the name of the book in the Bible this lesson is from? Genesis
Craft -- the only thing I can think of for the craft would be to let the children draw pictures of what was created on that day. They are making a creation booklet for this series, so the craft has to fit on the page for this booklet.
Game -- I did find a matching game, but that will involve printing out pictures of plants, flowers, trees and fruit and copying them and cutting them out. That is too much work.
