Creation & EvolutionForum for the discussion of this important topic. This forum is open to non-believers. There is a Christians-only forum in the Christians-only section too.
A creationist reads a creo site, or perhaps attends a creo seminar by their local pastor. They get all fired up and start a thread about how impossible (insert PRATT here) is. Mounds of evidence are dumped on to demonstrate otherwise. Their lack of biological knowledge leaves their head spinning. They quickly exit thread, never to be heard from again.
Just a thought for those still reading this thread.
As far as Darwinian Evolution goes just what is beneficial comes down to does it help an organism susrive and reporduce.
Our creationist decided that wings on a horse would be beneficial.
I contend it would not. Let's say we got a great genetic engineer (let's say from Mars) who can play with the codes to give a horse wings. Just how big would those wings have to be to allow a horse to fly? Could a grass eating animal generate the energy to use those wings? In short would they be of any use to a horse?
Bonus points for anyone who can think of how wings could help a horse (I can think of one, oops 2 ways that 'wings' could help a horse). More bonus points if one can figure out the science fiction work I are aluding to in this post
David Brin Uplift series comes to mind.
Also a Piers Anthony, but that was fantasy.

The claims of birds evolving wings had intermediate stages, I'm curious, what were those stages. And how is there insects, mammals, and birds with wings? I think I know the answer, MILLIONS of years, or better yet just say, "Use your imagintion!"

So, you finally returned! Only to bear false witness..... I thought that was a sin?

I don't really think you are curious about the stages of the evolution of the avian wing. We could discuss intermediates like archaeopteryx, or the different stages of feathers found with theropod dinosaur fossils, or the fact that birds produce both scales and feathers just like their theropod ancestors did, but you really wouldn't care... would you?

Because they don't understand what DNA is I'm Guessing.
I understand DNA very well, but it seems that most of you do not. If anyone knew the complexity of a single strand of DNA, you would know it would be impossible for it to spontaneously combust from gases.
For those of you who do not know the complexity of it, let me tell you. You would have a better chance of throwing paint in the air and it falling to the ground to paint an exact "Mona Lisa" painting, Now multiply that by 100.
It would be as though you remove all the letters from all the books in the U.S. Library of Congress, jumble them, and randomly place the letters back, creating an exact match.
But hey, it took billions of years right? So hey, just use your imagination.

As I am only remotely interested in the birds, I am very interested in the evolution of flying insects. Did these creatures also evolve from a dinosaur?

Hey, you were the one stating that a good example of new genetic code would be having a letter other than a, c, g or t. That was so bad, and caused so many people to facepalm that it was almost FSTDT worthy.
Also, did you really mean to say that DNA is formed when gases 'spontaneously combust'? You do realise that 'spontaneous combustion' refers to something bursting into flames?

Of course they didn't. You're not even close: insects and birds have totally different lines of descent.

Ok, I will do you a favor
