And no, not "play" as in the wink,wink,nudge,nudge way But truly just fool around like idiots playing together?
Are you the type of couple that likes to game together? (console or board game) Are you the type that likes to have indoor water-fights with lots of screaming and locking doors before the other spouse can soak you back?
Do you do competitive sports together? Pick-up hockey or soccer?
I think remembering your spouse as your best-friend is a huge part of making a marriage work, and play-time together should be considered important.

My husband and I goof off together a lot, and sometimes we get the girls involved in our goofing as well. Word games, puns, silliness of many veins.
Don't even mention water fights!!! My husband has a huge reputation for being an incredible water fighter. I still remember the time he sat on a porch roof waiting for me to come out the door and them dumped a whole bucket of water on me! Good times!
Years ago there was a Commodore game we played together: us against the computer. We'd pull all-nighters playing that puppy. Wish I could remember the name of the game. You had to search through a grid to get clues to finish puzzles, kind of space-ship stuff (you had a cruise ship and a little land rover you could send out), had to avoid bombs, etc.
Yes, we do a lot of that stuff. We play Domino's with my parents at least once a week, and then we goof off a lot with each other at home. We tease and razz each other, chase each other, and the whole water fight thing, but I think we've gotten to be too tired to do some of that stuff any more.
When we were first married we had a lot of water gun fights, and he always bested me, dang, he was relentless. So one day I was waiting for him when he got home from work. I had a loaded water gun behind my back, and I was just standing there casually, smiling, greeting him, waiting....and then as soon as he got close enough I let him have it! Wow, that was SO much fun! He was totally unprepared.

We play the Wii, go biking, watch movies together, goof off when we shop together, play with our puppy together, etc. We also occasionally have a tickle fight ... if one could call it that... its more like tickle domination.

We also do the Wii thing. I beat him so bad at boxing that he was determined to knock me down! And he did...twice! Talk about the proud feathers on him after that! LOL When at the beach and a cooler full of ice cubes, we put (or at least try) to put ice down each others' backs. Well, he's not usually wearing a shirt so my other option is to put it down his shorts! We also do the water fights....I usually get the hose before he does, but he's good with a super soaker!
In our cold winters it's snowball fights! Then the kids get involved and it's just fun all around.
Tickling's fun and can usually lead up to something even more fun.

It's so wonderful to act like a complete goof with your spouse - you know everyone else would think your nuts, but your spouse just joins in!
I have a husband who will stop in the middle of a bookstore announce loudly: "This is my favourite song!" and try to dance with me.
I've given up any embarrassed feelings - so now we just rock out together and keep going.
My hubby and I have an on-going tradition of "contests" - We loooove to have contests with each other.
Like: "Okay, you have to run barefoot, down the walk, across the sidewalk and up the driveway in the snow...in your bare feet. GO!" (at 11:00pm)
Or the:
"Last one to fall asleep wins." (I was out by 4:30am - he won)
Then there was the popular: "You have to suck on your icecaps for as long as possible, first one to give into brain-freeze owes the other 20$" (HA! Got a new pair of shoes with mah winnings!)
Everybody else in our families think we're too nutty - and we agree, but at least we're nuts together..

The last games I could beat him on were on the N64...I hope you guys can remember that console or I'm gonna feel REALLY old!!
He now refuses to play: "Wayne Gretzky Hockey '98" with me..and "Super Smash Bros" because I kick his butt with picachu everytime.
We play bomberman together on the PS3 and thats fun!
