ESV
The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one.

Now those who were with me saw the light but did not understand the voice of the one who was speaking to me.

There is a fantastic book written by Dr Peter S Ruckman called "The Scholarship Only Controversy." Every point White made in his book is rebutted in this book.

"And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man." (Acts 9:7 KJV)

"And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me." (Acts 22:9 KJV)

Compared to say... the NASB which gets it right:

"The men who traveled with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one." (Acts 9:7 NASB)

"And those who were with me saw the light, to be sure, but did not understand the voice of the One who was speaking to me."
(Acts 22:9 NASB)

Anyway, the KJV is a fine version. It is still one of my favorites. I'm am by no means bashing it! All of the translations have an error here and there. That's why it is so important to have several around to cross reference. God did preserved His Word and I believe it is infallible in context.

This is no error in the KJV. You can hear A VOICE without hearing THE VOICE.

If you can read Shakespearean/Elizabethan Old/Middle English that is fine and great the LORD will be blessed, just don't force it or shove it to others in what you believe. Every translation God can speak through to bring someone through Christ. We have free will to Love God and read and obey His word and accept His son or reject everything the LORD stands for. So, if you like the KJV, great. Please don't put on my profile claiming that the KJV is the only error free Bible. I will delete anything that goes against what I believe as quickly as my Private Messages. Spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and don't criticize me for using KJV, ESV, or any other translation. Let's agree to disagree. God loves us and wants us to understand His word through His Word, the Inspired Word, The Holy Scriptures called: The HOLY Bible. In Jesus Name, Amen and Halleluyah!

Haven't there been several revisions of the KJV?

I'm not saying that other versions can't bring someone to be saved. The point is that they all can't be the "pure words" of God (Psalms 12:6) if they say different things.

I'm not putting anything on your profile. You're the one who made a thread called " KJV Only vs Modern Versions." You expected no one to respond to it?

I wasn't referring to you. That was to Cody2 only. Anyway, God blesses those who wants to learn more about him and God isn't partial in what version we read, so have an open mind in what the LORD wants to share on your heart.

Funny you should mention Dr. Peter Ruckman of the Pensacola Bible Institute. I was a Ruckmanite for 14 years. Everyone believes based upon the evidence presented to them. I pray for the man and I love the King James Version myself. I'm just not a Ruckmanite in the KJV Only Camp anymore. I do believe the man is sincere with his love for Jesus Christ and His "Word" and that is what is important.

I did not know that you were supposed to testify to others about a book.

I thought Jesus was the Logos or Word.

I read the Bible understood it. and followed it's advice.

It pointed me to the Temple of the Father in Heaven and I went in.

The Eye of the Needle is very hard to notice, yet to enter it. The dark side will throw
every thing in heaven and earth, including the kitchen sink to distract you with static.
The Army does the the same in modern warfare.

I was in the Army and understand Psych Warfare, Same as Spiritual Warfare.

Mark 15:38 and 2 other scriptures. The Temple Curtain is torn, The Temple of the
Father in Heaven is open.
God opens a door and no one enters.
The Temple was torn at the instant, Jesus gave up His Spirit.
Wonder where he went?
Can you see it?

No, because everyone is concerned with what bible to read. or pointing to some book,
tape or sermon, created by man.

The static is blinding.
Mat 7: 14 Few will enter

My ( so called ) head pastor, lead his flock up to the Temple, turned and walked away.
He was standing right at the door, could not see it or in.
Then he read the next verse.

Missed the eye of the needle.

I wonder who placed the need to debate bibles into your thoughts?

One guess.

Think this is not real, Go see the dinosaur debate and the trillions and trillions of words wasted in other debates.
What else will take the Focus off the Act of Jesus
and the Father in Heaven.

They will come up with something new, The darkness always does.
