WORKS RELIGION, UNDER ANY NAME, IS DAMNING RELIGION. Any religion that conditions salvation upon something you must do, be it a work ever so small, is antichrist. Any religion that conditions any part of salvation upon you is damning to your soul. - Don Fortner
i have a good news bible,it really is easier to read. i hate those .."thou,thy, saith,spake- for speak, any words with the "eth' ending. when trying to teach one's children to read scriptures that has many of these in one paragraph. it get's confusing to both, also the kids can't get the full understanding. they can't ecplain what they read back, because the the strong focus on how to say those words. people in our times was raised to talk that way. but i use the jkb, just to prove what we read out of the bible we carried, means the same thing, but worded differently. the New World Translation. peace
My favorites are the KJV and NIV - hard to choose one!

My favorite translation is the Revised Standard Version (not the NEW Revised Standard Version), so I had to choose "other" on the poll. I also like the New King James.
Metanoia, you might enjoy the ESV since it contains 90% of the RSV.

I used the KJV exclusively for years. It met all of my needs and I was completely satisfied. Then I met my wife who struggled with the Shakespearean language. So, I began looking for a more modern translation that we could both use. We settled on the NASB and to be honest, I'm glad we did as I find it easier to understand. I still pick up the KJV on occasion but, the NASB is my primary translation.
