Life on deployment is hard, psychologically demanding, and often lonely for soldiers missing their loved ones and families. Gaming is a popular pastime in American bases, but DRM can take that away. Why does Ubisoft hate American troops?

Eventually, game companies will catch the drift and stop with the nonsense.

I do that all the time! Why on earth would I have to buy and install an 8 gigabyte game on my hard drive, and have to find the disc every time I want to play it? |

Yeah. Treat customers like criminals by imposing increasingly draconian restrictions while the _real_ pirates have long since cracked the software.
To be fair, even if DRM worked, if it still created the same hassle it does now I'd be opposed to it. The OP makes a pretty good reason why. As it happens, I bought Portal a good while after it came out and tried to install it but it required a network connection as part of its security. Now, in general I don't connect a computer running Windows to the internet. That's just asking for trouble. The security measures have become too much and they seriously impede usage.
