Need help

I don't know how to explain it any better, but lately I feel the Lord trying to draw me into a deeper relationship with Him, but it's like I keep resisting. I don't want to, and at the same time I don't want him to come any closer, like it physically hurts when I start to feel His presence. It's to the point where I'm feeling physically ill from this and I don't know how to stop it or make these feelings go away that are getting in the way, I just really really need help right now.

Is this a response of fear on your part? Have you been rejected by a parent in the past?

what does draw closer mean to you?

I suppose it is, when I was younger it seemed like my parents were a bit emotionally distant, and now when He starts to draw near, as in, tries to bring me deeper into His love, it's like it hurts, and I don't know how to make the pain stop.

I might suggest doing a study of the character of God. Knowledge of the Holy is available free online and is excellent.

Read a chapter a day. They are short but thought provoking.

I think the clearer we see who God is, the easier to trust Him.
