On the morning news today I heard a story about a brave dog, a labrador/retriever names, coincidentally, Angel, who saved her young master, a boy of about 11, from a cougar attack. The boy was chopping firewood outside his home in the country, I forgot what state it was in, I think it was either Virginia or Kentucky, or maybe Maryland, and there were woods behind his house. A cougar came out of the woods and was getting ready to attack, when the dog, Angel, got between the boy and the cougar do defend him and the cougar attacked the dog instead THe boy was close to the house, he ran inside and grabbed the phone to call 911. Fortunately, a mounted police officer was nearby and he heard the screams and came to help, he shot the cougar. Angel was rushed to the emergency vet's office and though she is wounded bad they put her in surgery and from what I heard I think she will make it. Let's pray for this brave canine hero who put her life at risk to save her human masters, that is the quality I love about dogs, the loyalty and bonding they have with their owners.

Yes, dogs rock and have saved a lot of people. I knew someone whose dog saved the child from a rattlesnake bite, but sadly ended up dying. They are courageous, loyal animals. Thanks for sharing the story and I will pray.

Angels and demons will not take the form of a animal. For they do God's will. For angels in the OT and the NT did not come for the man. For angels in the Bible only took the form of a man.

My father says:

Angels, demons, any spirits cannot do that. Only God can do that.

It isn't anything like grammar to begin a sentence with "for". If you are trying to make what you said sound Biblical, you should just cite Scripture. If your father is an authority on the subject, you should cite his published works.

I don't disagree with the premise so much as the method used to communicate it. Yes, angels and demons do not take animal form. The animals in our lives can do wonderful and loving things for us, but that is not supernatural. Insistence that God's creations which are good i.e. outstanding/ heroic animals must be supernatural is founded in Neoplatonism & in essence projects our sin nature on the animals around us. Where in Scripture, we do see talking animals (Balaam's Donkey) it is the animal speaking, not angels speaking through the animal.

From a previous page -
Read in context NUmbers 22 indicates that it was the donkey granted speech not the angel speaking through the donkey. There is a point where the angel speaks and it is clearly not in the donkey.

Yes, the pigs posessed by demons, plenty of stories of people posessed by demons too. . . but those would be possessions not the demon/angel taking a shape. Possession is cohabitation, not displacement of the original soul and certainly not a taking on of a form.

I stole "for" from Paul.

Well, angels of God in the OT and NT never came for the man, but came to the man in the form of a man.

Second, angels will not take the form of a animal, for God permits not. For they do His will (Psalm 104:20-21). And His will is not manifest in taking the form of a animal. Even demons can't take the form of a animal, for they also do His perfect will.

My father is not an authority. He does claim to feel the presence of God though.

Yes, I agree. Angels and demons do not take animal form.

We must be careful about this. For angels do not come for the man. This can lead to prayer to angels for deliverance.

Yes, fallen angels can take the form of animals and people. These are known as "familiars."

Sorry, bursted your bubble. No where in the bible, except the possession of animals.

I'd like a Unicorn steak and a side of Jack's magic beans

No. Familiars may be possessed animals (if they exist at all), but they are not a demon in an animal form.

And even then, the demons need permission to enter the animal (Luke 8:32).
