Augustine's writing on Genesis

So, how many of the YEC's have read what St. Augustine wrote about Genesis?

Not me, I'm afraid. I haven't got much further than the beginning of the confessions, actually. What does he say?

I can't say it would change much - I don't regard him with any special veneration.

I just scanned over his confessions and it looks like he believed Genesis meant what it says...just that he didn't understand how God did it and was amazed by the creation.

Augustine didn't believe in a literal six days and read the creation story allegorically.

Try reading it again. The part where he says "this can't refer to light as we understand it" and the parts where he talks about the divisions of time are very informative.
