One of the qualifications to be a moderator on CF is to ascribe to the Nicene Creed. Like it or not, no LDS can, in good conscience, meet that qualification. Although this might seem unfair and prejudiced at first glance, one must keep in mind that is the Christian Forms, not the LDS Forums. I am sure there are forums on the internet for LDS members which do not allow Christians (i.e. Nicene Christians) to moderate, even though they might be allowed to participate in one degree or another.

Yes, what he said.
I personally don't have a problem with it.

Given that this is a forum for the discussion of LDS beliefs, the exclusion of any LDS moderator (and I am not presenting myself as a candidate by any stretch of the imagination) is discriminatory. LDS members consider themselves Christian, so this is an odd exclusion.
It seems a prejudicial stance from the onset. This may explain the minimal number of LDS members who post here. Simply a suggestion.

Moderation is based on the rules, not on faith/theology, and it does not take a specific faith icon to know when someone is being flamed or harassed. The reason it is closed to only those members who uphold the Nicene Creed is because we need to know when there is a Statement of Faith violation. And even though we don't need to worry about that in the Unorthodox Theology forums, because they are a subset of Theology, the rest of which is bound by the Nicene Creed, the staff members need to have a working belief in the creed to know if there is a violation.

Based on that justification, how can people who have no belief and understanding of the LDS faith really know if something is insulting or belittling to LDS beliefs? Perhaps that is not important?

It seems you have skewered your own position.
There is no problem with my position. The Theology forums, outside of Unorthodox Theology, is open only to those who believe in the Nicene Creed. Posts in those forums are required to meet the standard of the Nicene Creed. Unorthodox Theology holds no such standard. There are no forbidden topics here (some are highly discouraged, but none are forbidden), there is no standard to uphold (outside of the rules), and we rely on all members (not just the LDS) to notify the staff when the rules are broken by using the report button, no matter what forum it is.

That is correct. It is also why a good portion of the LDS participants have moved on to other forums. Expect a very discriminatory experience here. You can PM me if you want particulars as they are not allowed to be discussed.
