Generic response: Yeah it's fine, there's nothing wrong with a genre by virtue of itself.
More detailed: If the lyrics of certain bands make you uncomfortable, then you should consider why they make you uncomfortable, and make a decision based on that contemplation. Still, that should be done on a band-by-band basis instead of condemning an entire genre for the grievances of a few.

Is the pain of not knowing, worth the price of saying nothing?
The questions I ask when determining what music I listen to are these: Does it bring glory to God in a way that could be observed by anyone listening (if not, I don't listen) Does it bring me closer to God, give me greater understanding of who He is and cause me to follow after Him more and more? (if not, I don't listen) Finally, if I listen, does it cause other people to stumble in their faith? (if so, I don't listen)
The question I ask when determining what music I listen to is this: Do I like it?
And the answer to Black Metal is "Yes. I do."
Can't beat a bit of Carpathian Forest, Venom, Mayhem, Marduk or Naglfar.
Don't really listen to much Death, Deicide and Dethklok, 'sabout it.
People have always been prone to like what is evil, do what is evil and generally think what is evil. It is certainly your choice to do so, but you may find one day that you think according to what you expose your mind to. We are a product of our environment, that much is made quite clear, especially obvious in poverty striken societies, but true everywhere.

I would submit that your conscience is losing it's sensativity. Music and media ARE tools. The producers of music and media have a very definate agenda to cause people to buy the products they are advertising. They call this tool marketing. Don't think for a moment that you aren't being manipulated by what you listen to! I have a friend who used to play the rock circuit with some pretty big bands. He tells of how it was expected by record producers that you would literally sign yourself over to Satan in order to get record deals. If you think the music that comes out of those producers isn't a tool of Satan, then you will be a perfect target. Beware, the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour!
You can listen good metal songs, even Christians bands. Check demon hunter with fading away.

Is it okay that i listen to Death Metal, Black Metal, and all their respective subgenres?
Yes, it's okay.

So long as it isn't anti-Christian, then I don't see an issue with it either.

Troparion - Tone 4
Commanders of the heavenly hosts, we who are unworthy beseech you, by your prayers encompass us beneath the wings of your immaterial glory, and faithfully preserve us who fall down and cry to you: “Deliver us from all harm, for you are the commanders of the powers on high!”
Holy Archangel Michael, pray to God for me.
"Why do you increase your bonds? Take hold of your life before your light grows dark and you seek help and do not find it. This life has been given to you for repentance; do not waste it in vain pursuits."~St. Isaac the Syrian
