Anyone have any info on her? The prophet that is not the actress!! Might be going to a conference next week and am a little sceptical - just wondered if anyone knew about her.
Thanks

The actor ( they don't like to be called actresses anymore) is a Buddhist. I've seen her on TV with the Dalai Lama.

The prophetess I have heard about 3-5 times, Heather. She gave some lectures when I was in Bible College.
Her prophetic words are generally a little over dramatic, but normally accurate. Don't expect an encouraging faith message from the Bible though! She gave my wife a prophetic word which was very accurate and encouraging.
Guessing where you are with the Lord (and this is a guess based on a rapid reading of your posts and so on, not a thus saith God) it is probably a good thing you go, it will be quite good.
I think though you will be disappointed by the meeting overall because as you are now learning to base everything on the Word and live by faith and not by feelings, you will see a whole crowd of people looking for "a word" and something sensational. Once you realize that the Christian life is about what God has done and is developed by faith in the Word it can be a bit disturbing to see people clamouring for a prophecy, with no idea that God has already spoken and no idea how much He loves them.
I would imagine that Sharon Stone is very secure in her relationship with the Lord, but this kind of ministry can gather people who are desperate to hear God from someone else.
There is a rumour my wife remembers that she always prophesies over people wearing red. If you want a word, go find a red blouse or something!
Blessings,
Ben

It is my humble experience that a prophet within the fellowship - and all fellowships should have prophets - is more akin to a therapist than someone giving another great Revelation. They have the ability to read your heart and apply God's response to it and also deliver personal messages. Sometimes we are too close to see the issue and a prophet is able to point things out in our lives that we have missed or ignored. Remember Paul mentioning all the congregation prophesying over an unbelieving visitor - telling him the secrets of his heart that brought him to repentance? Same sort of thing within the fellowship for the purpose of uplifting and edification. We get a Holy Spirit therapist and it don't cost a fraction of what the worldly therapists do - how wonderful is that? Paul also had a prophet demonstrate to him that he would be incarcerated too.
I have also found that prophesy by way of tongues tends to be more assembly-wide oriented, addressing the whole assembly, uplifting the whole congregation together.
People who think right don't need a therapist, and I am not convinced there is a Biblical case to say that a prophet is a feel-good kind of ministry.
Blessings,
Ben
It's a matter of edification and uplifting. If we were all perfectly uplifted and edified, why are we then exhorted to uplift each other, edify each other? We have been given many tools for this because we are in enemy occupied territory and are fighting a war.
Interesting. Thanks for the insight Ben. Think I'll probably go as have day to myself and I know some others are going but would like to experience it first-hand so to speak. From some of what I read about her in various places I thought it might be a bit dramatic but we'll see. Will test the red theory - looking out a red top to wear! I'll report back what happens.

Well, I went and actually quite enjoyed it. A lot of words of knowledge about a variety of things including ringing in the ears which I have as a symptom of my deficiency so stood up and was prayed for and I think it's gone - will only know for sure when I go to bed and everything is totally quiet! Not much word based teaching but nothing inaccurate as far as I could tell. Had to come back before the evening session though so didn't get to hear the prophetic word for Scotland for 2010 but told friends to take notes. She shared some of her personal testimony which was very interesting.
Overall, glad I went and has given me plety of stuff to ponder.
No one wearing red was picked out for personal prophecy but a few people wearing green!?!?
