Desired Gender

So I'm home still sick and there's not a lot on to watch. So I just saw the tail end of the show Born In Wrong Body. Kind of scary. One could be hitting on a guy and it could have been a girl. Or vs versa. Does this bother anyone else?

It's a very interesting topic. And "weird" to be able to choose between being a man or a woman. If a birth certificate says male....how can they ever be recognized as a woman? Even if they look like a woman through surgery....aren't they always technically going to be male? In my mind, yes. You can act any way you want. You can do anything you want. But you're still the gender you were born with.

And people who marry transgender....how does that work? How do people work through that in their mind?

Just because someone may walk like a guy.....doesn't mean they aren't a women. We all have akward things about us.

Which also brings up the thought of what happens when a child is born and the doctors really can't tell if they are male or female....that would be a hard situation to be in as a parent.

Anyways....this can be a very strange topic....

I'll just make sure I ask for a birth certificate before I start dating

I was about to make a big post that I thought was interesting discussion points, but then I remembered that controversial topics rule, and the rule includes discussion about transsexuality.

Soo.. I dunno if we can even talk about this?

I never know what we can and can't talk about anymore -.- blah

Oh? Can we not? I didn't know. If not a mod can delete the thread then. IMO, I think that in a world of freedom of thinking, it is the Christians who get shut down on their beliefs. I would expect a Christian website...like this....to not try and please everyone. We are supposed to stand out in the world, not be molded into the world.

I went to a liberal college and as a Christian I was less judgmental than most students and professors. Why can't people be adults and be able to talk about controversial topics? In the end, it is the Christian thought that is shut down in more cases than not.

Just a thought.

But if I can't be open here, then so be it. I'm going to go post this in another forum where I know it is open for discussion.
