| An old dream- being held captive This was a dream I had many years ago, but it was so vivid and unusual, I have never forgotten it.
I dreamed I had taken a bus (I don't have a car) to a location I had never been before, and the bus normally didn't go to. It only went there this day because of some special event of some kind, that was being held not far from where I got off. I wasn't interested in whatever the event was, but wanted to go for a change of scenery.
The bus went into the mountain passes, and I thought it was a really pretty place to get off and explore. I had my bike with me, so I got off the bus and was riding my bike along the mountain roads.
I was nervous about being gone too long, because the bus only came by infrequently, and I was afraid I'd miss the last one and be stranded. It was a long way from my home, and there was no one I could call to pick me up if that happened.
I turned onto another road. On the left side was a beautiful thick forest that gradually went up the side of a mountain. The right side was semi-wooded, but flat. There were very few buildings around, maybe the occasional house every couple of miles.
I came upon one building- a business of some kind. There may have been a sign with the business' name somewhere, I'm not sure. But I decided to go inside and ask for directions.
When I got inside, I had a very strange sensation. It looked somewhat like a nursing home, but that's not what it was. The people in charge were all Asian. I tried asking one of the employees for directions, but she seemed to pretend not to know English. I knew she did, though, because I saw her smirking to the others.
Then I saw that there were several rooms off the main room where I was. Inside each room was a bed and maybe a few pieces of furniture, but that was it. People, men and women, and even kids, were being held prisoner in this building. Some whole families were in there together. (None of the captives were Asian in appearance.)
Now I too was being held, just because I'd stumbled in there. At night, there was a guard at the door to make sure no one escaped. Nobody was being tortured or beaten, or anything like that, although I got the impression from the other captives that they were being used for medical experiments, and that was the purpose of the building and the captive people inside. Some were even dying because of the experiments that they had done to them. It seemed to have a government connection, not that the building or workers there were part of the government, but more like they were being financially supported and encouraged by the government.
Of course, everyone wanted to get out of this place, including me. I was in "my" room that night, after everyone else, except the guard at the front door, was sleeping. I tried to open the window in my room and found that it was unlocked, so I very quietly opened it and snuck out. There were motion sensors outside each window, and the front of the building, so I had to move very, very slowly until I got far enough away.
When I did, I ran into the forested mountain side to hide and wait for morning. Then I knew I'd have to find help, and get the other people out of there.
End.
