3Blessed [are] the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4Blessed [are] they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5Blessed [are] the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6Blessed [are] they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7Blessed [are] the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10Blessed [are] they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
you maybe poor but, rich in spirit and Kingdom will be yours
you may mourn but, seek God and God shall comfort you
you hunger and thirst for the Lord - you seek the Lord in everything and can not cease knowing him and the spiritual things of him and the kingdom shall be yours
men persecute you because we don't understand that a spirit knows another spirit and so you are given a hard time because of who you are in the Lord and yet you still love and stand. God knows and your reward will be great. Glory To God!
All The Glory Belongs To God!

I really like the wording from the New Living Translation:
The Beatitudes
3 “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him,[a]
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. 4 God blesses those who mourn,
for they will be comforted. 5 God blesses those who are humble,
for they will inherit the whole earth. 6 God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice,[b]
for they will be satisfied. 7 God blesses those who are merciful,
for they will be shown mercy. 8 God blesses those whose hearts are pure,
for they will see God. 9 God blesses those who work for peace,
for they will be called the children of God. 10 God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. 11“God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you[c] and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.12 Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.
I really like the way the emphasis that this version demonstrates the meaning in a very real way.

...If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
