Found in an old dictionary!

Hello! Found this in an olde english dictionary: Sacramentalist - a believer in the sanctity, value, power and efficacy of the sacraments.

I am a catholic. Does this make me a sacramentalist as well? Or am I mental for love of the Sacraments?

Peace and all good,

Gail

You may indeed be mental, Gail, but it's not for your love of the Sacraments.

Almighty God, our heavenly Father, Your mercies are new every morning; and though we deserve only punishment, You receive us as Your children and provide for all our needs of body and soul. Grant that we may heartily acknowledge Your merciful goodness, give thanks for all Your benefits, and serve You in willing obedience; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Not sure about the "mental thing", as for the rest; it is as it should be! Bless you!

Mark

That dictionary definition seems rather broad to me. As I have understood the term it refers to those who view ther sacraments as operating in and of themselves. If that it is, I would guess that you are a sacramentalist.
