I'm interested in spirits inside of you. I don't know much about this at all -- I'm talking about being possessed by demons/evil spirits, what good spirits there are aside from the Holy Spirit or if there is any, how the Holy Spirit "works" with them (I've heard an evil spirit can't be in the body of a Holy Spirit and vice-versa), etc. I don't know what I don't know...
I'm asking for links to resources I can learn about this stuff. You don't have to try and help me yourself, unless you really want to (this isn't a secret plea, either, it's honest). I'm asking here so I don't get mislead (hopefully).
I have a quick question right now and will have more later. I'm confused because I've heard it both ways, and read things that seem to contradict it in the Bible -- in the article you sent, it says the Holy Spirit can never leave you if you're a true believer. But I also know you can't just continue to sin and expect salvation... and sometimes this is taken to the extreme (there was a list that was circulating for a bit called the 7 lies of mainstream Christianity or something, which said - if I recall correctly - that committing no sins at all, being perfect in that sense, is possible -- and there's also that Paul Washer video, which doesn't go as far, but makes sense and backs up this to an extent I believe ... but the 7 lies thing made it sound like you weren't to commit another sin ever again, which would rule out growing in Christ or needing a Teacher ... as if it was a magical and total change suddenly).
And then there's also the thing where an evil spirit can't inhabit where the Holy Spirit is. Does this mean with the Holy Spirit, no evil spirit could touch you? For example true Christian turned occult follower/satanist/something of that nature turned back on the right path.
I do not believe you can lose your salvation. Jesus calls it eternal life. The Spirit seals you to the day of redemption.
But that hardly means you can disobey without consequence. God is also your Heavenly Father and he disciplines wayward sons, because He loves them and wants to make them like Jesus.
So a genuine believer who consistently disobeys should not be surprised when God chastens him.
