Diddit happen? Who diddit?
From Wiki pages
Jews in India faced no persecution from Hindus from the time they migrated to India, but they were subjugated by Christian missionaries during the Goa Inquisition from the year 1552. Portuguese invaders in the South India committed massive atrocities on South Indian Jewry in the 17th Century [4].
Then who diddit?
Of the total Jewish population in India, about half live in Manipur and Mizoram and a quarter live in the city of Mumbai. Unlike many parts of the world, Jews have historically lived in India without anti-Semitism from Hindus (though they were victims of anti-Semitism by the Portuguese[1] and their Inquisition during their colonial rule in Goa).
[Mizoram has a large xian population and the church even today persecutes Jews and other non xians]
***********
A Jewish author says.
The only significant case of anti-Semitism in India was the persecution of Jews in Cranganore, on what is now the Kerala coast, by the Portuguese, Jhirad said. However other Indians gave shelter to the Jews fleeing Portuguese persecution, he added.
Elijah Jhirad, a senior advocate of the Indian Supreme Court and a barrister, moved to the United States 10 years ago. He lives in New York City and writes books on law and provides legal consultations. |

Hindus have persecuted people, and it's not just a "new thing" in response to Christian persecution, which I figure some Hindus would allege. Hindus persecuted Buddhists originally, before co-opting Buddhism and assimilating it into Hinduism, at the least. |

Even Buddhists have not alleged persecution.
Can you deny that it was xians who started the persecution of Hindus and Jews of India?
Remember, xians have been India since about 60 AD and lived peacefully till 1542, when xian monks launched inquisition in Goa.
Persecution by xians has taken place all over the world. | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
