I wanted to have a thread available where we can post what God has told us recently. We all have "one time, a few years ago" stories. What is God telling you now?
I was praying today and decided to try to write my prayers and His answers. Ya'll should try it. It's uncomfortable at first, but it's amazing.
Here is part of our conversation:
Lord, I want to love You more. I love You so much more than I can say.
You want to love Me more - yet you love Me with your whole heart in a way that few do. But it is My Spirit that has given you this ability. You can do nothing greater than to spend time with Me. Take time to spend quiet time with Me, and then take Me with you when you go out into the world.
Lord, I want to be able to tell You how much I love you, but I can't - there's no words.
Do not take something beautiful - your love for Me - and turn it into frustration. Your love will always outstrip your words - for your heart will always have a greater capacity than your mind. I created you this way very deliberately. Simply love Me as I love you - without reservation.
Yeah, I was feeling kinda desperate today. But I love what God showed me. When you pray, take a notebook, and just begin writing. It amazes me when I go back and look at old journals.
Has God spoken to you lately?

I think I will just dwell on what He said to u for tonight..........thanks
He's been speaking to me since I was 5 years old. Right now, He's saying:
"My dear child. Do not fret so much. Focus on your calling. Be there for My little ones. Those that need help, encouragement and strength. I will take care of everything else. That way, you make wise use of your time. Remember, I have mapped out your path of life. Do not be tempted to change yourself. In as much as a little seed carries on growing as I water it, will you carry on growing. Like a little seed that will grow into a giant tree, which provides shelter for many. I have spoken."
I love this thread. I hope it continues. I love to hear to hear from the heart of God.
He said:
"you make me feel special"
and "thank you for letting me love you" and "thank you for loving me back"
Can you believe it, we make God feel special. It's so nice to know. When we give Him our love and our time, He feels like He is someone special....! And He is so polite, I was so surprised when I heard that (no wonder it says in Corinthians: "love is not rude" (but polite)
And he also said: "I want to be wanted"
God wants people to want Him. It's nice when someone wants you. It's so lonely when everybody is passing you by, busy doing other things... And our Grooms wants to be someone special in His Bride's life. He wants to be wanted by His Bride.

stormdancer, wow...what Jesus said to you...."Do not take something beautiful - your love for Me-and turn it into frustration".....I so needed to hear that. That is so fitting I cannot even say.
I seem to have trouble hearing Him lately, so I am blessed by reading here. I know it is not because He does not speak. The problem is on my end. ;-)
I am always comforted by the knowledge that He knows EVERYTHING that we are thinking and feeling. There is so much we cannot pin down and put into words, but He knows. We don't need to try to explain. It is His own work in us anyway.
Isn't that comforting to know?

This is not necessarily true. Sometimes, I think God just wants us to rest in Him. He is present, but silent. When you can't hear Him, and don't feel an unsettled spirit (indicating you're not hearing Him), maybe He just wants to hold you in silence, giving you peace and rest.

Please, turn off that TV. I'm a TV addict myself, but God whispers, and you can't generally hear Him over the TV. Take a notebook, and ask God to speak to you. Then start writing. If nothing else, write, "I love you, daughter." over and over until you start hearing from him. Whatever thoughts come to you, write down. It will seem like thoughts pop into your head. Ask God to speak so that you will know it's Him.
I feel like God's telling me, "She's hiding from Me." (If I'm wrong, please forgive me. He may be talking to me - I tend to try to hide when He asks me to do something hard). Has God asked you to do something you don't want to do? For me, it was "Sing for me." He wanted me to sing a song in church. I answered, "Lord, what if I sound like a skinned cat?" But I did it, and it opened up a whole new aspect of worship to me.
Even if it's a small thing, the more you obey, the more clearly you will hear His voice.
Mostly He just wants to be with you. He loves you, and yearns for you to just sit in His presence. Don't come with a list of "Do this and do that." Just sit, and say, "Lord, I just want to be with You."
