I am really curious as to why many don't hold a Christmas Day Service. I know almost everone has a Christmas Eve service.
I just really find it odd.
Thanks
It isn't that we ignore Christmas. We have a service celebrating Christmas usually the Sunday before. And we don't cancel church if it falls on a Sunday. But the thought that you must, and if you don't there's something wrong with you, is a legalistic mentality. There is nothing in the bible that commands it.
What would happen if your church decided not to this year? What would be everyone's attitude?

The fact that so many think you have to have a Christmas service. Just look at some of the responses.
No Jesus, no salvation.
His birth brought about the salvation and redemption of all Creation.
I have to worship to commemorate such a principally holy day.

It is required that there is one by canon law. That couldn't happen.

Right. Legalism.

I celebrate it. But it doesn't always have to be on "the" day. More than likely, Jesus wasn't even born on December 25.

Does your Church hold one if it is not on a Sunday? If not how come?
Yep

Was it January 7?

To be honest I think they might have a riot on their hands if they cancelled
You clearly don't know what legalism is and isn't.

I find it odd that anyone would think that a "have to" mentality has anything to do with why we worship on the Feast of the Nativity. "Have to" never enters into my thoughts. More like, "get to", "happy to", "can't wait to", "what a blessing to get to" . . . . .
