Thank you.
You were neither rude nor did you need to apologize. My response was probably a bit too Aussie perhaps and was not meant to offend but too convey to you that I accept your reluctance to discuss further which I can only concur. I am sorry if my post appeared otherwise.

Yes, that is right. The forgiveness of sins that was won by Jesus on the cross is applied to all who put their trust, their faith, in Him.

And the promise that will be kept, ultimately, is the promise that He has made to you.

"And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life." (1Jn 5:11-13)

Your life is hid in God, in Christ. Praise God for this unspeakable gift!

"We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols." (1Jn 5:19-21)

lifewanderer,

Firstly, congratulations on giving your heart to the Lord! It is the best thing ever when another comes into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ for "there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth" (Luke 15:10). (so there is a lot of celebrating going on).

Like you, my conversion was rather quiet. I didn't know what to expect at first, but most of all I had a great sense of inner peace and joy when I first came to Christ.

From this point, I sincerely advise that you dig deep into God's Holy Word each day to build your faith and relationship with Jesus. Matthew is a good starting point, but anywhere you feel led to start really is fine.

May the Lord continue to bless you with his hope, love and unspeakable joy as you draw closer to him each day.
