We are spending trillions more than we take in and we are looking to pay for the worlds HIV meds?
Because the majority of immigrants can't affod that kind of medicine bill,
I have no problem with anyone becoming a citizen that can take care of themselves, but to accept them, knowing they will cost us, individually, thousands of dollars just for one problem they have, not counting any other benefit.
Of course, if we get goverment option, the Goverment will pay for everyones medical bills, and they could easily raise rates to cover these costs, affordable goverment healthcare?
Traditional monopoly thinking, Undercut the competition, then rake in the money when no one can offer anything close. Even easier when goverment can restrict every premium, and limit every charge, and the goverment has endless funds to strangle the competition. Because they know when they are the only benefit, people will have to pay whatever they want.
Also with Goverment healthcare, the goverment has an interest in every aspect of a perosns life. If its unhealthy, the goverment can limit it, charge extra fees if you do it, or otherwise fine you for not living healthy.
Meaning surcharge/restrcitions on Cigarettes, cigars, fast food, sugary beverages(not just carbonated), fatty or high sugar foods, possibly tv or internet(slovenly lifestyle), possibly tax breaks on exercise clubs memberships. Pro-healthcare people will say this isn't true, and will quote several countries that have Goverment healthcare, and say they don't do it. Simple reply: Our goverment already is looking at how to do this, before they are even in the healthcare business.
Goverment looks to save money on healthcare from people not living the way our goverment believes they should, but also trying to save the world, with borrowed money.

I don't see the issue with this. It wouldn't appear that Obama is doing anything but finishing something Bush began, and renewing a program from the 90's.

I think the US government should pay for everyone's food, shelter, medical care, and cable/internet. Then we all could retire and live a life of leisure. This policiy is definitely a step in the right direction...
