Why do I get the feeling that if this had been completed by the Bush administration there would be praise instead of condemnation?
I don't see the issue with this. It wouldn't appear that Obama is doing anything but finishing something Bush began, and renewing a program from the 90's.
I have condemned Bush's policies I disagree with. This was started with Bush, but never was signed. So it isn't his policy. Obama will sign it, and it will be his policy.

I believe they figured out the cost of this program. I stated the cost of the medicine, that doesn't include the other illnesses they will have to fight off, due to thier reduced immune systems.

Us vs them, when we are talking about our money, can never be forgotten. We can't even pay for our peoples healthcare, and Obama wants to import more people to drain the little we have for our sick people.
The USA can not save the world. We should not welcome people that will put more strain on our resources.
Autumnleaf: You would think they would want to start this with our own people first, than expand it to the world. How can they(the world) hate us if we give them everything they need want and desire, cradle to grave.
Third world countrymen, put down your guns, pull up a chair, grab some pizza, and watch high def Desperate housewives, don't worry, the US goverment is paying for it all.

So we don't want to pay for health treatments for "them" but we're willing to dump tons of money into a war over oil? What an awesome country.
That's a faulty argument. The war really has nothing to do with this and I doubt most people, even those who support the war, are totally willing to dump money into it.
The point has been raised that we can't even afford to pay for our own country's medical issues...why should we then bring on everyone else's medical issues? I don't care who initiated it or who signed it, I don't like it.
The global community hates the US as a bully, but has no problem sending us her problems to fix. That's gotta be quite a conundrum for those people who hate us, to know that we're the only ones who can fix them.

People who say we shouldn't fight for oil lack the intelligence to even understand the gas they put in their cars comes from oil, much less what would happen if we didn't have a steady supply of it.

That's not really fair considering the US has its own fair share of oil. Talk to the treehuggers about why we can't get to that oil.

I do not lack intelligence, but thanks for asking.
Also, if we weren't dumping money into various wars we're fighting don't you think we'd have some extra pennies left over for healthcare?

That's assuming we need government paid for healthcare in the first place, instead of simple reforms that don't run us deeper, and deeper into dept. And it's not exactly like we can get out of these wars we're in.

We'd have to use the available alternatives and find new ones...... sorry environmental commies, we are going to have to burn that coal...

OK, so lets nuke the rest of the world for oil. All your oils are belong to us.
Of course, the actual intelligent person would be willing to not fight over oil when we still have plenty. Maybe one day we will need to fight, but not yet. And to justify mass killing just because you want something (it is not a need as the Amish show, granted our society would have to cut back alot) is not a good standard, especially when more diplomatic solutions exist.
