According to the Britannica, it's the most-visited building in the world, with four million visitors each year (averaging 13,000 each day)! |

It's the perfect combination of modern architecture and traditional elements. |

This temple, which is over a century old, was built by the Sri Lankan Tamils in Kuala Lumpur. The main Deity is Lord Murugan.
National Mosque, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Church of the Holy Rosary, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Interior
Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Bangkok, Thailand
This temple is located within the Grand Palace, which is considered to be the most sacred place in Thailand. The Emerald Buddha is actually carved from jade, not emerald.
Thean Hou Temple, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Interior (main shrine)
This Chinese temple is dedicated to the Goddess Thean Hou, which is a name for Mazu, the Goddess of the Sea.
Sri Mahamariamman Temple, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Interior
This is the oldest Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur. It is dedicated to the Goddess Mariamman, who is one of the many forms of the Goddess Durga. The small shrine in the centre of the photo (on the metal platform) is not normally there (it was only there on the day I took the photo).
Masjid Jamek (Jamek Mosque), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
This is one of the oldest mosques in Kuala Lumpur. It is run by the Hanbali madhhab (school of Islamic jurisprudence), which doesn't allow non-Muslims to enter mosques. I was therefore not allowed to go inside it.
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Klang, Malaysia
Interior
Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, Singapore
This temple houses a relic of the Buddha - a tooth. However, it is not on display to the general public but is kept in a sacred reliquary. I saw monks chanting prayers in front of it.
Sri Thendayuthapani Temple, Klang, Malaysia
Interior
While this temple is called the Thendayuthapani Temple, the main Deity is Sri Raja Rajeswari Amman, a form of the Goddess Durga. |

I'm going to post some more British places of worship. Baitul Futuh: I've visited this mosque before, and was given a tour by two lovely, friendly Muslim women. It's in south London.
