Disturbing Dream

I was wonder if you guys could help me, I have had some dreams that have disturbed me. I am hoping to get some opinions and I don’t really want to go to my pastor about this. This is what I wrote soon after I had the dreams -

I have had two dreams recently that are pretty similar. Each time I feel partially awake and my eyes are open. The first one was in my own bed, the second I was at my nan’s, she had some surgery done and she needed someone to stay the night, so I was in the guest bed. So in each dream I am in the bed I am sleeping in. I get the urge to purge the demons inside of me. So I relax and my body goes numb and my head goes numb. I start chanting a line from a song over and over, the first time I was saying “Jesus Christ is the Lord of all, Lord of all the earth.” The second time it was a different song, I think it was “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” At first I thought nothing would happen, then all of a sudden I had a feeling of my breath being taken out of me and black smoke coming out of my mouth. Then I fall back to sleep.

The fact that smoke came out of my mouth suggests to me it was in fact a dream but I never had a dream where I've felt like I am awake. Perhaps it just a mixture of being in R.E.M sleep and being partially awake (or something like that, I'm no dream expert). Should I be concerned about this dream? Has anyone heard of someone else having a similar dream to this?

Are you very familiar with demon exorcism? That is basically what you did. If you had the sense that it left, then you would be free from it. Possession isn't about how bad the host person is, but how badly they have been harrassed with or without their awareness.

This also could be a dream of God showing you the simple instructions of how to set people free. Jesus asked that His disciples free people from evil spirits. It is not a good thing to let oppressors have free reign in a person's life... so much time is wasted and pain is endured, that could have been stopped earlier.

The blood of Jesus Christ paid for our redemption. With this act of grace, we are set free. When spirits see that you are standing behind this contract and behind the knees of the God of the universe, they get the hint.

I can understand not wanting to tell your pastor, as each person reacts differently -- it is safer to ask someone who already walks in an awareness of this realm. Otherwise you will just get discouraged, and have to deal with whatever odd suggestions he comes up with.

These were dreams, but you might have also been doing some real praying and declaring. Do a little research on how believers have handled evil spirits... it could be very helpful for future situations you will come up against.

I don't know a whole lot about exorcism just what's in the bible. I know casting out demons is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. My mum told me when I was young that demons fear songs about God, so I guess that has stayed with me.

Thank you Heron, what you wrote there really puts me at ease, it did worry me.

I wasn't sure whether this dream was a warning or instructions. Thank you for the advice. I'll do some research.

I wondered about that. I have heard stories of people approaching their pastor and being told to get professional counseling, being told to give up rock music and movies, having confidentiality broken by parents or group leaders being told... things that implicate the person and bind them, instead of setting them free.

Jesus wanted people free. (Present tense of course.) You sensed the smoke leave, not enter. Even if you had seen it enter, that would be a warning to do something about it before it wreaked havoc.

Your mother! That's someone you could talk with, if she is still around. My mum was like that too.

Yeah my mum would probably be the best person to talk about this. She lives in the country so I should go out and see her or my friend who's a school chaplain.

The weird thing about the dreams is when I was having them I wasn't afraid. It's only when I woke in the morning and I remembered clearly, that I started thinking about what it meant. But what you've said really makes sense.

That's great. I think that's what God was trying to show you -- that there's a principle of authority where what appears to be fearful or powerful against you doesn't need to be. In His name, you do have the authority. A calm, firm stance can do it.

I didn't want to talk about people's reactions in the first post, because we can fear people as much as we fear unknown supernatural beings. People just do what they think best based on what they know to be true or helpful. But who can say that they know all that relates to the supernatural? None of us.

Jesus gave us simple tools, and didn't ask us to get deep into study of this unseen realm, or cower over certain types of forces, or condemn people for being prone to attacks. The gospel that went out was freedom and immediate solutions. Using the little that we know to help others.

Jesus sent seventy followers out of town to do this! Imagine being new to His teachings, out there in pairs, expected to heal and cast demons out of people on the streets. Guts.

One thing I love about God is - He is truth. And He is about His Children knowing truth. I would just say to continue to seek you Father in all things because the enemy can not stand to be no where near God! And the two can not dwell together. Stay Blessed!

I believe we dream bad things because the demons are working overtime to confiscate souls.

They are on a mission to bother people awake and while sleeping. You can train your subconscious to automatically say the Lord's Prayer while having a bad dream and I have found this works very well to bring PEACE to my soul.

ALSO...

Input is output too. TV has alot to do with how we dream and what we watch as well.

I stay away from scary movies or any kind of evilness to ward off such dreams.

Yeah and beer, me and my mates went to a cabin, drinking and playing guitar hero. That night I had a dream about demons with glowing eyes and apparently I was talking in my sleep, thankfully my mates had no idea what I was saying. Now keep away from the stuff. (Beer that is not guitar hero)
