You mentioned the drugs being "herbal"... seeing as herbs are natural substances, who made them in the first place? I would say nature, but I'm sure that a quick read of Genesis would soon tell a different story to those that believe it.
Humanity was "getting high" on natural drugs for millenia before certain drugs became manmade... I fail to see what the big drug companies have to do with anything, to be honest
