I have been a member of CF for quite a while but only recently started looking into this area regarding fertility. Basically I guess I just always accepted that it was responsible to limit your family as that is what everyone around me did. However, I'm actually quite convinced by some of the biblical arguments for this approach. Funnily enough I also gave up using the pill nearly four years ago because even though I asked doctors whether it caused early abortions and they said no I just couldn't quite rest easy with it. After stopping i felt sooo much better! It is only in this last year that I have actually read main stream news articles that confirm some of the symptoms I had while on the pill.
We have had two little ones since then. Anyhow, would be interested in your views on the following!
1. What about if you agree to this approach but your husband doesn't as yet?
2. How do you manage to discipline your children, keep them all safe when out, etc with that many? We seem to get pregnant very quickly at the moment although I know that God could change this at any time. I just wonder then about how you handle the logistics of maybe a few very little ones 18 months or so apart? What about keeping them all calm etc at church if you are on your own with them?
As far as your husband goes, you need to tell him that you cannot continue the pill in clear conscience because of how it can cause abortions (and other side effects/health risks) and that you would rather not use any contraception at all. If he can't take that leap, assure him that you will support him in any other non-abortive contraception (short of surgery) unless and until he changes his mind.
No one can tell you ahead of time what you will need to do with your children; everybody's situation is different. You won't know how many you will have or what kind of personalities they will have. QF takes the "manna" approach to raising children; that is, He will give you what you need, when you need it (if you keep seeking Him).

Are you referring to me? Where did you read that I was not supportive of QF? Where is the debate in saying that you owe responsibility to any children you do have? The OP questioned their ability to care for any future children...not us.

Do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with your God
The last temptation that's the greatest treason, is to do the right deed for the wrong reason. T.S. Eliot
The mantra "Be responsible or don't have them" is contraceptional.
"Trust God with your fertility and honor God with your parenting" is that of QF.
Suggesting that someone remain using contraception until they get their act, finances or whatever together is the spirit of the age and unwelcome in the QF forum as a veiled attempt to subvert its intent. It is the contraceptionist's argument without the formality of arguing.
