Anyone had persecution over Halloween/Trick or Treat

Went round to my local supermarket 2 days ago.
They'd gone mad on Halloween. Cobwebs and skeletons over the delicatessan, witches and warlocks stacking shelves, creepy music and screeams above the chemist's.

I wonder how I would have reacted if I'd been working for them (a big chain). Would they have relegated me to the warehouse and been 'sent to Coventry'?

Would they have said "stop being a killjoy" "where's your sense of humour"?
To be po-faced is the ultimate accusation - one I don't like.

Anybody been given a difficult time at work?

I haven't. The worst I got was "did you do anything for Halloween?", to which I responded "I dressed up as a dude with pants and a shirt and played board games."

Same here. Personally, I wasn't harassed at all about Halloween. But then again, I see nothing wrong with celebrating Halloween by trick or treating and such.

Like Halloween.Lost a tween friend over it though as her mom and my mom had words about it. The girl's mom said it was evil my mom said oh,so my kids are evil? EEEEKKKKK

Persecution? No I have never been brutally beaten or murdered as a result of my religious beliefs. Actually I rather enjoy halloween, its one time (outside of cons) that I can ornately dress up as someone else so I got along just fine.

No, I always enjoy Halloween and like looking at the creepy decor. Of course I'm a horror movie fan as well so I'm used to weird decor all year round lol

Halloween's fun. The only thing I can think of, and I wouldn't call this persecution, but I'm just disappointed that there isn't a good zombie walk around where I live.

I want what reeaction we'd get on those 'more earnest' boards like the fundamentalists and reformed.

Speaking of- what on earth is it with the public obsession with zombies these days? It's as if two years ago there was a moment I looked around and realized there was this sudden zombie fixation. I still don't get it.

ETA: No- I don't get persecuted for not celebrating Halloween. I don't buy candy, I don't turn on my porch light, and I don't talk about it. I leave the holiday alone and it leaves me alone.
