I can't tell if you're being facetious or not. If you are you do have a point about people ascribing everything to god. "My neighbour had a tumor and prayed and now the tumor is gone and this proves my god". Ignoring other possible explanations and jumping straight to their favorite conclusion.

I wonder why the Vatican would be pointing like this at a predominantly non Catholic nation????
I agree that it is a pagan celebration, BUT it and much of other so called Christian celebrations are deeply rooted in pagan beginnings.

Sorry, but if they take part in halloween they are taking part in paganism. And you are helping them!

Weather's nice here today. A bit cooler than some like it but it's perfect if you ask me!
Caught a little grass hopper on the way to the post office yesterday. Let her go today. But not before snapping her pic! SEPTA is on strike and that's not a good thing if you're me. Oh well.

Well Gary, you may feel that Halloween is still a pagan holiday. Are you pagan? To me it's still all about getting the children dressed in cute costumes and going door to door for candy. Of course this must be done safely and if the neighborhood thinks it's a large bunch of pagan children coming to gather candy treats by all means.................................................what should pagan children wear on Halloween next year? TOGAS????? Or how about going out as your favorite saint. Do you have one?
I haven't any grandchildren to take door to door yet. I can't wait. They'll be sooooooooo cute.
